With a 12-17 record, the Grizzlies appear ready to trade Hasheem Thabeet in order to immediately improve their club.

Griz general manager Chris Wallace declined to discuss potential deals and said the team's trade activity has been overstated.

"We are continuously talking to teams throughout the year. And it's no different than the process of the other 29 teams," Wallace said. "Sometimes those conversations are very simplistic, and there's nothing to them. Sometimes they're serious. It's the normal course of what's out there.

"But we don't feel we have to do deals right now. That's how you end up making mistakes. You walk a fine line with being aggressive and seriously considering all of the options. We have quality players."

You should have known drafting a player that was only capable of shot blocking with the 2nd overall pick wouldn't end well.

Maybe he could somehow fit in with the Bucks? Defensive minded team with a good coach. May somehow be able to get Thabeet on the right track to at least be a serviceable role player in the league. That and the fact that we don't have a true center behind Bogut... maybe something could be done.

Yeah, Milwaukee would be good for him.

However, I think his best bet is in Orlando. They have no backup center, and above all of that, with Thabeet's forte (if anything) being his defense...it makes perfect sense for him to play behind, and learn from, the best defensive player in the NBA.

Maybe the Rockets can get in on this I mean sure all Thabett can do is block shots but thats one of the things we really need an inside presence on defense. I'm sure the coaching staff can help work on him with his offensive game and all.

Thabeet + Tony Allen + Carroll for Corey Maggette?

Except for the fact that that trade would be pointless, and gives the Grizzlies something they don't need (a loser who doesn't play defense or pass) and takes away something they've been needing for years (a lock down defensive role player in Tony Allen).
