Source: Raptors Tried To Trade Bosh To Cavs

Chris Bosh turned down a Raptors offer to trade the forward to the Cavaliers earlier this year, according to a source in Toronto.

 

Bosh would have received a maximum contract as a result of the deal, roughly $10 million more than he received from Miami.

 

A source says the Cavaliers also tried to acquire Chris Paul.

This should be news to no one. LeBron apparently even tried to recruit him there. People think LBJ was desperate to get out of Cleveland, but if Bosh goes to Cleveland instead of Miami, Wade is probably a Knick or a Bull right now and LBJ is still in Cleveland. Bosh didn't want to win, he wanted to go to a market like Miami (edit: well I guess technically you could say he wanted both). Toronto was going to get a package from Cleveland and it would be done as soon as Bosh ok'd it, not sure what it was exactly but it was apparently like AV, picks and [expletive], but he never ok'd it, and he went to Miami, so LBJ had no choice except to leave Cleveland unless he wanted to be trapped there for the rest of his career and risk never winning any rings. Just sucks he chose Miami instead of New York or Chicago or something.

Bosh definitely wanted to go to a bigger market, but he also knew a trio wouldn't be possible in Cleveland. Miami was the only team who had enough money to do it so maybe winning did play a part in his decision.

 

I think Bosh had been set on Miami for a while though, regardless if LBJ came or not.
