I'm pretty sure Ty got them for Xmas, but anyone else who has them -- how do you like them? I never really considered them much until I was messing around at Best Buy today and loved the sound quality out of them. I'm thinking about the Beats Solo HD, they're I think $230 and I have nothing better to spend my $200 of Best Buy giftcards on ha

hell, you could get the 202s for $20 and still have better quality

btw, when these say they are not noise canceling, they mean it. they will block out any sounds around you, but are not true noise canceling as they are open cans. Don't expect to hear them over a space shuttle taking off for example. Beats, Bose(yuck), etc are not true noise canceling either.

I was also looking into some solo's but the solo's do not have noise canceling. And do not fold up. Which is why I like the Studio's better which have bigger ear cups, fold, and are noise canceling.

Yeah I bought them for myself a month ago. It was pretty much an Xmas gift to myself.

 

They are good, definitely don't regret the purchase. I got the black Solo HD's for 199 at Best Buy btw...

 

I'm sure there are better options out there, but I had limited to try out at Best Buy so I went with them. I liked the sleek look and so far they've been good. The control talk feature is nice when working out.

I'm not going to hate, but if you cared about a better sound quality/price ratio, should have researched a bit more instead of going with the trend. Grados, Sennheiser, and audiotech have these cans beat by miles. Each one varies on price range, and each headphone brings a different sound with them.

 

In the 100$ price range, the best headphone for hard/classic rock would be the grados sr60/80. They are loud cans, but one of the most "fun" headphones you could ever buy. If the "loudness" is too much for you, you can also buy the alessandro ms1, which also runs at 100$ price range. Most audiophiles prefer this one, as its more balanced and runs on a tweaked grados sr125 model, so you're kinda getting more sound quality for the buck. Heres a link

If you want the best headphones for gaming/classical music, nothing can/will beat the Audio Technica ATH-AD700. These headphones have the LARGEST sound stage ever. You will hear every footstep and know exactly what direction your opponent is coming in.

 

Sennheiser are better suited for movies, and more of a jack of all trade master of none cans. The higher the price, the better quality. They also have a few great "noise canceling" headphones.

 

Audio-Technica ATH-M50 and Denon AHD2000 have an amazing bass and really good with rap/hip hop. Each headphone you buy will have pros/cons. IT gets less n less the more you pay, but even the 1000-2000$ ones will still have strengths/weaknesses

Lmao. yeah. not going to lie, i care too much about the look of mine. the sound quality is good, there are definitely better options out there though for $200 dollars. But if you have the money they are good headphones.

lol Sennheiser is an actual brand unlike Monster. It is actually used in studios. But if you don't care about sound quality, just by some iPod earbuds. Btw, your tattoo thread shows you don't care how [expletive]ty something looks. For $150-200 less, my eh150s look and sound better than beats.

If I wanted an opinion on some brand I've never heard of, I would've labeled the title something like Help me find headphones. This has nothing to do w/ seinfeldsaucer, I'm obviously not even considering it considering I've never mentioned it.

I've actually seen them in a few photo's and video's being used by rappers in the studio. I wasn't referring to any type of commercial advertisement; which I've never even see a commercial for Beat by Dre in general.

Those could very easily be endorsements. On top of that, I doubt many if any rappers actually do the actual producing technical work.

 

By the way, tt, of course you've never heard of Sennheiser. Mainly because you think Beats are going to be a good product. I bet you've never heard of Denon either, despite the fact that they make the best av receivers. You probably think Bose speakers sound good

 

The fact that you continuously spell the name wrong on purpose just further proves the fact that you're immature and don't listen to anyone. Spend more money on an inferior product, not like it matters to you as you're spoiled anyway.

Well I can tell a huge difference between them and the normal iPod earphones but honeslty if you're buying them for like $200 or so I would rather just get Sennheiser earphones, never used them but I hear they're great.

idk bout you, but I think the m50 looks better than the beats. Also much cheaper. You'd love these. Nice bass. Highly recommended for a "first" real pair of headphones, for your purposes of course. You'd feel that much better knowing how much cheaper you paid.

You'd probably like the shure srh 750dj the most if you want "beats" comparable, but still better sound quality.

 

Denon AHD2000 have a great refined bass/sound quality and good for hip hop. Runs at $230. Cant go wrong with these.

DT770 runs at around $200, really really really good bass. A lot of hip hop folks love these. But you kinda need a amp to bring out the bass.

 

All these headphones are better than the beats for price/sound quality ratio, have a good bass and sound quality. These excel in hip hop music. Any of them would be great. So pick which one you think is best suited for you, and how much you're willing to spend on a pair of headphones. Personally I would never spend 200+ for headphones, but if I did it would be on the following.

 

Grado SR325i

Alessandro MS2/MS2i

Audiotechnica AD900

Sennheiser HD600

AKG K701

But these aren't really known for hip hop, just like how beats sound garbage with rock/classical/anything else.

 

But as always, your money, your wallet. So do whatever you'd like with it, just keep your options open.

 

Also, its always a good idea to test out headphones before you buy, and see which one you like the most. So check out one of your local headphones shops.

I picked em up today, they were far and away the best ones at the store [at least out of the ones I could try.]

 

I tried a $120 Sony, the Bose [minus the QC15], and some no name $40 that was apparently good since I never heard of it, and they were all [expletive] compared to Beats

 

I definitely do love them, they stay on my head a lot better than I thought htey would
