Dash
CBSSports.com has learned that the Wolves plan to make a push to acquire Memphis guard O.J. Mayo, whose rights they traded to the Grizzlies on draft night in 2008 in the deal that brought Love to Minnesota. Mayo is frustrated coming off the bench in Memphis and "needs a change," according to one person familiar with the situation. The Wolves envision Mayo playing in the backcourt next season alongside Rubio, who according to a person familiar with the situation has given team officials his word that he will join the Wolves next season. The buyout that Minnesota must pay FC Barcelona is down to $1 million, but it's not clear how Rubio's decision could be affected by a lockout. Even if Rubio comes to Minnesota, there's no guarantee he'll thrive immediately. http://www.cbssports.com/nba/story/14486778/rebuilding-turning-into-lengthy-process-for-timberwolves The potential lockout is going to scare a lot of players but regardless this is still excellent news for the Wolves organization and their fans. IF Rubio truly gave his word and the buyout has dropped to $1 million (I think it was in the $3-5 million area when he was drafted) then I think Minny is in good shape. Hayes1
That's awesome news! I can't wait for Rubio to come to the NBA. I still think he needs to improve on stuff, but pretty sure the nba would get him right, plus he's only 20 years old.
Newman
What will happen to Ridnour and Jonny Flynn when he arrive? I know Kahn said Flynn and Rubio might play the 1 and 2 together but then guys like Corey Brewer and Wes Johnson won't get the minutes. Jenneral
So then they'd have: RubioFlynnRidnour Ridnour is really going to regret going to MN instead of staying put. Especially since his main reason for leaving was to get more playing time.
