MIAMI (AP) -- LeBron James wants to be part of the dunk contest at All-Star weekend. He's just not sure it's a smart idea.

One of the game's best dunkers, James acknowledged Friday that he often considers committing to be part of the field, then finds himself waffling.

James said at some points he tells himself, "Yeah, I'm going to do it," but then he thinks about the wear and tear on his body and reconsiders.

I'd like to see him enter, but honestly I don't think he's an awfully creative dunker, and he's lost a tiny bit of the hops he had a few years ago. It'd probably be best fot himself if he stayed away from it, but the dunk contest desperately needs star power. Ever since the dunk contest where Josh Smith jumped over Kenyon and Amare finished the alley-oop off Nash's head, the contest has been brutal to watch. I miss the J-Rich and Desmond Mason duels -_-

If he wants to win at least something this season, he might as well enter.

If the Cavs wanted to win more than 1 game in December they should have entered the WNBA... ROFL LMAO HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!

 Troll.

you don't think Miami has any shot at winning the title this year?

Of course they have a chance, but we've seen LeBron's track record in the playoffs, and he's inconsistent at times. Boston has handled the Heat this year, so I think they'll lose to them, whether they face them in the semis or the ECF. If they somehow find a way to get past Boston (if KG's not fully healthy), I think LA, Dallas, or SAS can beat them. But I doubt they'll get there.

LeBron's track record in the post-season has been amazing for his career. And you're a troll because you constantly hate on LBJ, troll threads about him, avoid facts and go off your misguided emotions.

How about your misguided belief of his "amazing track record". How many championships did he win? Especially in the last two seasons, when the Cavs were the prohibitive favorites to win it all. Not one person on ESPN mentioned any problems with him not having enough help until the offseason. If that's an amazing track record, what do you call one with titles?

Just wanted to respond, I'll try and stop now.

This year's Cavs aren't substantially different than last year's squad and they've won 1 game this entire month. LeBron led arguably the worst Finals team in NBA history, brought them to the ECF another time (averaging 38/8/8 in that series loss, including 2 insanely clutch performances in the 2 wins), and led them to back-to-back 60+ win seasons. His career post-season averages of 29.7PPG/8.4RPG/7.3APG/46% shooting are among the greatest in NBA HISTORY.

Now he has the help to have a legit shot at winning a title. In Cleveland, he did not. Individually, his career post-season numbers are better than Kobe's (pre and post Shaq), Wade's, Howard's, Paul's, etc... He consistently led his team deep into the post-season, and over the last 4 seasons his Cavs were beaten only by teams that either made it to the Finals, or won it all.

So, yes, he does have an amazing post-season track record individually. To even suggest that he's had a problem over his career choking or underperforming in the post-season is ridiculous and downright delerious. That game 5 against Boston doesn't erase an otherwise spectacular post-season resume.
