bigdog17k
Source: Marvin Lewis likely to returnBengals coach Marvin Lewis is expected to remain with Cincinnati, a team source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. The two sides expect to resolve any issues within the next 24 hours. On Monday, Lewis told owner Mike Brown what needs to change for him to consider staying in Cincinnati, where he's had two winning records in eight seasons. The Bengals completed their worst season under Lewis, finishing 4-12 with a loss in Baltimore on Sunday. Neither Lewis nor Brown would discuss their meeting. Brown said through a team spokesman that a resolution could come as soon as Tuesday. Lewis wants changes in how the organization operates, including more control over roster decisions. He also has lobbied years for a covered practice field -- the Bengals are the only northern NFL team without one. Lewis turned down an extension last season, saying their differences had to be resolved before he would agree to stay.Full Article Not sure if this is a joke or not? I find it extremely pathetic, this guy has been given plenty of chances to turn this team around... he's never been able to do it. So I mean that should be an indication that he isn't THE guy. Our owner just can't part ways with him for whatever reason. It really makes me sick knowing he'll likely be returning. And what irks me even more is how he's telling Mike Brown what needs to change in order for him to stay... are you kidding me!?
JYD
Wow. Pathetic. I think he's an awful coach to be honest.
bigdog17k
They're reporting that Lewis wants "sustained success" and he can't do that because of our practice facilities? I guess he's [expletive]ing to Mike Brown to build a new covered practice field. Is this guy joking? He's had only two winning seasons with talented rosters. I'm not trying to defend Brown either considering he's a pretty stingy owner, and he should probably be a bit more hands off if this team is going to succeed but I can't believe Lewis is actually trying to make this excuse. Dash
Thank God! The Texans were in talks with Lewis about their DC opening, now that would have been a tragedy.

Lkr
There are a few things I find funny. First is the fact that Lewis actually won COTY last year. Second, he made demands to be rehired. Third, they caved to his demands even though he is an ATROCIOUS coach

Second, he made demands to be rehired. Third, they caved to his demands even though he is an ATROCIOUS coach I know, I'm completely dumbfounded. He's acting like he's got so much leverage in the situation, his [expletive] should be gone... not demanding an extension, and an indoor practice facility. Lkr
To be honest, asking for an indoor practice facility isn't that crazy. Are the Bengals the only team that don't have one in this day and age?
bigdog17k
To be honest, asking for an indoor practice facility isn't that crazy. Are the Bengals the only team that don't have one in this day and age? It isn't crazy, and I think Mike Brown should have built one for the team awhile ago. But Marvin Lewis shouldn't be demanding [expletive], that's what I have a problem with. Maybe if he won the division a few more times, and got past the first round of the playoffs maybe I wouldn't be so irritated by it.
