Connection to PS3 Network Issue

I'm having a problem with my connection on PSN. I have never really had an issue before with my connection...I wouldn't say it's flawless, but it's always been pretty reliable.

Over the past week or so, it's been pretty awful. I can still connect to it each time I sign in, but then when I go to play a game of Madden or 2k11 I always get disconnected at the 'select teams' screen or it says "The EA servers are unavailable at this time." Same goes for 2k servers as well.

I can't figure out the issue. I tried the test connection thing and it always fails on the 2nd or 3rd one....yet I am connected to PSN just fine...I can talk to friends, etc.

It's really weird how the second I go to play a game I get kicked off.

Any suggestions?

Did you try resetting/unplugging the modem and router for a minute each? Outside of something like that, I have no idea...

I turned the router off for a minute, didn't unplug anything.

Just to show you all how frustrating this has become:

I just finished a game against my friend online in Madden. Beat him 34-6..It was lag free, everything ran smoothly.

Then I go to play a game of NBA 2K11 online 5 minutes later, thinking hey, maybe it will work...nope. 3 minutes into the game it says a Network problem has been encountered. So frustrating. I've never gotten past the first quarter in an online game in 2K11 now. I've tried at least 10 times....

my brother had a similar issue turned out it was our modem was cutting in and out (due to the heat or something), called up the provider and they fixed us up

I'll look into this. But PS3 online has always been great for me the year and a half I've had it. I used to have 360 but then I got the red lights with my warranty was up so I got rid of it and all the games/accessories and bought a PS3.
