Flash
Miami - 5 UF - 3FSU - 23+2=55>5 Again, I'll survive. You brought up Miami for no reason at all because someone made a point that you couldn't argue against. Its ok to have sour grapes, it must be tough knowing that the south is still the king in CFB. Owner Real Deal Posted January 11, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted January 11, 2011 http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/486630/cammnewton.jpg Boss. Props to Dyer, monster runs in that last possession, just unstoppable on the field tonight when it mattered most. And, finally, the Auburn defense, that dominated Oregon for three quarters. No surprise here. I had Auburn winning the National Championship since the second or third game of the season. Cam and Dyer are too elusive, and those delayed hand-offs are great for Cam converting on those third downs.

I wanted Auburn to win, but it really did seem like his wrist touched the ground. when 22 players on the field stopped playing, hell Dyer himself thought the play was over, that's gotta tell you something. The coaches on the sideline always encourage you to keep on playing till the whistle blows, which is fine and all, but this can't be the way to close out a game like this. I've always hated games decided by the refs, so I'll stick with it.
Nestle Snipes
Oregon's coach is a Grade A Douche, I feel bad for the kids after losing on the final play of such a Great game but their coach deserves every loss he gets.

Well its a judgement call by the ref in that situation and if you really have to think about it, then it must not be that conclusive for them to overturn it. Maybe his wrist was down, but its tough to overturn that call on the field considering how close it was.

They say the ref is a part of the field and he threw a helluva screen on a long Oregon pass on the drive to tie it, it has to work both ways, It was amazing that the guy stayed up but he did. Nestle Snipes
Also I think the rule is you are not down unless your elbow or knee touches, I'm pretty sure the front of your arm and hand can touch and you are still in play. Maybe his wrist was down, but its tough to overturn that call on the field considering how close it was.Eh, I don't know if I agree with that. The evidence is there, they showed a ton of replays that clearly showed the wrist was down, that's about as much evidence you need to overturn the initial call. Auburn deserved to win the game, I'm not saying the refs were the reason they won, but they definitely made a mistake there. And it all lies on Oregon anyway, they had a chance to win but decided to forgo the field goal and opt for a TD. When you know how good Auburn's linemen are, and how good they have been playing, you gotta stay conservative every once in a while and get the sure points. Nestle Snipes
I'm pretty sure the wrist cannot. You're right, For a runner to be down, it is any part of his body other than his foot or hand. Now it goes back to is his wrist down, I don't know that they could say 100% that it was. EastCoastNiner
That's why everybody respects your opinion, right? I've had to shut you people up multiple times. I had to tell you fools about Vernon Davis, Amare Stoudemire, ect. You act as if I say the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruins are the greatest teams. Well, why don't you use the search button and find where I hype them up. You won't find any hype about any of the teams except the Red Sox pitching staff because I don't post much in the NFL GDT's until after the game. I'd like you to find me one post from this season that says that the Patriots are the best team and are going to win the Super Bowl, or something like that regarding any of the teams I follow. I don't know what you're so mad about. Why would I respect your opinion when you think Matt Leinert will be a good NFL QB?
JYD
It's pretty apparent they made the right call, get over it. There's no way you could prove enough of his wrist was down to overturn it. And the whistle was never blown. Tough break for Oregon, but it is what it is. I thought this break for Auburn canceled out the one that went against them when the stupid ref got right in the CB's way on the 4th down conversion. That play probably doesn't go for more then 5-10 yards if the ref isn't there.
