Dash
Okay I know everyone here is already aware of Kevin Love's historic year on the boards, but when I looked at his stat over at his ESPN page I couldn't help but make a thread. Nearly halfway through the season and Love is averaging 15.6 rebounds per game, the next best rebounder is Dwight Howard with 13.2, which is no small feat either. 10.7 of those rebounds are on the defensive glass, that is how many total rebounds Pau Gasol gets in a game. Love also leads the league in offensive rebounds per game with 4.8 and to top it all off, he's doing all this in 36 minutes. Incredible, I am dumbfounded that this guy probably won't make the All-Star team.
Check my Stats
He doesn't deserve to make the all-star game, however crazy his rebounding numbers are. He is shooting 45% from the field and plays no defense, and is on one of the worst teams in the league.

I don't see how playing in a bad team should affect his all-star votes, and its because he's on one of the worst teams in the NBA that he's struggling. Love is no big time defensive player but he's solid offensively (although his post moves are limited), but the Wolves have no one to help take pressure off him and run the offense except for Beasley and maybe Ridnour. Regardless a 20/16 player should be an all-star or at the very least, in the discussion.
Owner Real Deal Posted January 6, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted January 6, 2011 The dude grabs basketballs off the glass like he has on a pair of receiver gloves. I wouldn't say he's an all-star (over Dirk, Gasol, Durant, Melo?), but he's still playing better than Mayo, which should haunt the Grizzlies for a few years. Kobe24
Well hes also shooting like 43% from three? Thats pretty sick
fish7718
Yeah and unlike Dwight, Camby, Biedrins (11 rbp in 30 mpg) and other amazing rebound numbers we've seen, he's doing it from the PF position.
Dr. Feelgood
Well, he does deserve to be an All-Star but there are other players ahead of him who will likely go before him. It's sad really.

His shooting numbers are great. 58% TS, which is the same as Amar'e, Garnett, and better than Boozer, Bosh, Gasol, and much better than Josh Smith and Tim Duncan, though worse than Dirk's (who is the second most efficient scorer in the league anyway). And should the team's performance undermine the individual? This isn't the PGA ffs. It's not Kevin Love losing games, it's the Timberwolves losing games. The T'wolves suck because they are a bad team as a whole. Do I really have to explain this? Anyway, Kevin Love absolutely deserves to be an all star this year.
