Built Ford Tough
The Toronto Raptors announced Thursday they have re-assigned rookie centre Solomon Alabi to the Erie BayHawks of the NBA Development League. Alabi will continue to be included on the Raptors’ roster and will be placed on the team’s inactive list. Alabi was with the BayHawks from November 15 – December 9. He appeared in seven games with Erie, averaging 8.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 22.7 minutes. He had 12 points and 11 rebounds in the Bayhawks’ 102-82 victory over the Utah Flash. Alabi has appeared in five games with the Raptors, totaling five rebounds in 15 minutes. http://www.nba.com/raptors/news/20110106/8837/alabi-re-assigned-erie-bayhawks Don't understand why he was recalled in the first place (at least for developmental purposes) as it was pretty clear he wouldn't crack the Raptors rotation or even when he did see floor time, he would hardly be able to contribute much. He is a fringe NBA player as is, and sitting on the bench never seeing any game action isn't going to help his development, so I'm glad he is back in the D-League. It really is where he should be right now. Edited January 14, 2011 by Built Ford Tough
Built Ford Tough
Alabi back to the Raptors: @stackmackHolly MacKenzieOfficial release from the Raptors about recalling Solomon Alabi just arrived. Good day all around. #Raptors5 minutes ago via TweetDeck Favorite Retweet Reply What exactly is the point in having him jump back and forth between the NBA and the D-League? Exactly how is this helping his development? If you don't want to put him in the D-League because it is so guard oriented, I understand that, but for the love of god, at least stop jerking him around so often. Maybe giving him some minutes here and there might help as well, but I'm not about to expect a miracle.
