Lakers reserve forward Matt Barnes suffered a tear of the lateral meniscus of his right knee in the first half of Friday evening’s game against New Orleans and will need surgery.

That's a really, really tough loss for the Lakers, especially with Artest's suckage and the trade of Sasha.

 

I really, really think the Lakers should make a trade for a SF, whether it be a major trade which would land them a new starter, or something like trading a pick to get a guy like T-Mac.

The Lakers will likely be without Matt Barnes for eight weeks after he was surgery on Tuesday to repair a torn lateral meniscus on his right knee.

 

Barnes provided the timetable, as the Lakers won't release one until after the surgery.

 

He suffered the injury after landing off-balance while pursuing a rebound Friday against New Orleans
