The Regime
Frank Isola cites a source familiar with the negotiations in reporting that discussions between the Knicks and Nuggets are ongoing and that New York still stands a 50-50 chance of landing Carmelo Anthony by trade. "He'd like to play in New York," said the source. "But I don't see anything happening soon." The Nets are heavily pursuing completion of a three-team trade for Anthony but Isola's source indicates that no deal is imminent on that front. Asked whether Anthony would sign a long-term contract extension to play for the Nets, the source did not give a definitive answer. "It hasn't gotten to that point yet. He's willing to listen to them if he gets close," said the source. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/71094/20110111/source_knicks_have_50_50_chance_of_landing_melo/
JYD
Don't you and others get sick of the Melo topics? I mean...Not to sound like a dick but it's getting old. Just let me know when he's playing in a Nets uniform or whenever then start a new topic.

bloo
not to be a dick, but making him his own subofurm would likely just increase discussion regarding Melo. Yes, it would. But at least at then I wouldn't have to go into every team subforum and see a thread about Melo.By then, if I wanted to see things about Melo.. I would just go there.I mean, that's just me. I don't like going into a Rockets subforum and seeing a Melo topic.

Nitro
Honestly, at this point I'd rather just see him in a Knicks uniform as opposed to a Nets uni. I love the Nets organization, and I'd be ecstatic if he came to NJ, but I'm really starting to get worried about what the team will look like after the deal with the trade scenarious that are being thrown around. Besides, Melo just seems like a Knicks-kinda guy, and even though I love the Nets, I hate this current group of players while I love the Knicks' roster. I'd like to see NY as a championship contender and renewing their rivalry with the Heat. For the Nets, I'd like to see them somehow get CP3 via FA in 2012 (and maybe Dwight?...I can dream). The Truth
but I'm really starting to get worried about what the team will look like after the deal with the trade scenarious that are being thrown around.they'd essentially be getting Melo, Billups, and Hamilton for Favors, Harris, and Morrow. how could you be opposed to such a deal? Nitro
they'd essentially be getting Melo, Billups, and Hamilton for Favors, Harris, and Morrow. how could you be opposed to such a deal? Both Billups and Rip are short-term solutions. Billups is on his last legs, and he supposedly wants to retire as a Nugget. The only way he stays with the Nets, from what reports say, is if they extend his contract, which would be stupid. Hamilton will turn 33 this season, has a terrible contract and can't even crack the starting lineup of one of the worst teams in the league. That's how

That's how hmm, you make a compelling argument. the Nets would also be giving away a first round pick in this deal. that would be a lottery pick for them if they choose not to make the deal. nope.dude, you should; it's so much easier lol. NomarFachix
The New York Knicks have reached out to Memphis about participating in a three-team deal that would send Grizzlies guard O.J. Mayo to Denver and Carmelo Anthony to New York, according to league sources. Talks are in the infant stages and nothing is imminent, but the discussions are a sign of the Knicks' increased aggressiveness in trying to trade for Anthony. More about the Mayo involvement in the link. http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nba/news/story?id=6019859
The Regime
Knicks are going to get just as far as the Nuggets in the postseason. OJ will get more playing time in New York that's the true reason why he prefers the Knicks over the Nuggets.
