Karma is a [expletive] for Cleveland

LeBron was "seeing everything" in his opinion...no need to look any further into that. He probably thinks he's really God. No surprise here.

If he doesn't think that, though...it's good to know he believes Cleveland struggles because of God, and that he associates God with karma.

I'm sure it sucks for Cleveland fans, but was the actual statement wrong? Not really. He's pretty much made it known that he doesn't give a [expletive] what anyone thinks about him. And after all the hate being thrown at the guy, I'm not surprised it came around to bite them in the [expletive].

This is, however the first time that you can see that the negativity really did get to LBJ.

He has the right to say what he wants. The Decision was awful, but Gilbert's letter mixed with the ungratefulness of the franchise and [most of] the fanbase is equally as bad. You would think that they'd be grateful he brought the franchise excitement, profitability and its most success in franchise history, but they aren't. Instead they viciously attack him AND his family verbally, burn his jersey's, and act ike the last 7 years never happened.

So, I have little sympathy for each side.

Thanks...amazing how every year LeBron somehow regains respect after failing to win in the postseason.

He has ridiculous post-season averages, has hit a number of post-season game-winners, and Howard had more help with the Magic, Kobe had more help with the Lakers, and the Cetics need no explanation. So, it's not hard to see why the reigning 2x MVP, who is currently playing the best basketball in the league, would regain respect.

You go into deep detail for the aftermath, but not the decision. You say it was simply "awful". Do you know that Dan Gilbert received zero knowledge of where LeBron was going until he announced in front of the world? You'd think after letting LeBron pick the players he wanted and running the show, common courtesy by LeBron would at least get a phone call. At least Carmelo is letting it be known he wants to leave. When LeBron, the man you have given everything to until now, suddenly stops talking to you and doesn't even take the time to honor his home state and tell the owner he's leaving, how do you expect people to react? We all have hearts, emotions...You know who started this mess...and that's why the karma is going to come back to haunt him.

Yes, I know all of that, but realize a few things...

1) Carmelo is also not honoring his contract. Even though LeBron supposedly "quit" in Game 5 of that Boston series, he still led the Cavs to 60+ wins and won an MVP award. He still performed well overall in that Boston series (considerably better than Kobe did in the Finals IMO). He sill earned the team a LOT of money, gave the team excitement and notoriety, and gave them a chance to win. Carmelo is doing none of that, even though he's contractually obligated.

2) LeBron should have never been able to be the team's GM. He should have had input, but if a team is essentially giving him full authority of all decisions, as you are insinuating, then the Cavalier organization is at fault. And you honestly think LeBron shot down that Amare deal last season...really? No. The trade had a strong chance of happening, but the Cavs took Hickson off the table. Decisions like that are why LeBron left. The Cavs had a lot of good players that fit with LeBron, but they never ONCE in 7 seasons got a guy who could consistently make plays without LeBron. That was their downfall. Unfortunately they had that with Boozer, but he ended up with the Jazz (which was [expletive]ed up on his part).

3) He doesn't tell the Cavs he's leaving and doesn't show gratitude for what they did for him...all douche moves, but they don't (shouldn't) outweigh the fact that he brought the team from the gutter to 60+ win seasons, gave the franchise its only Finals appearance, the franchise's only MVP award, etc.. You say I know who started the mess, but if the Cavs did the job Orlando, LA and Boston did to surround their superstars with talent, there would be no mess to begin with.

Yeah Melo handcuffing the Nuggets and holding the franchise hostage is so much better.

EDIT: Lol at Nitro about to give another lecture to this kid. It is fruitless.

I'm not say it's "so much better", but you don't see fans going crazy about trying to keep him. They know what he wants, he's let it been known. He's not holding them along for the ride. Melo and LeBron are both overpaid, ignorant athletes. I wouldn't give either the benefit of the doubt.

The one thing I'll admit the Cavs did wrong was giving LeBron too much, if not, total power of this franchise. But how does that justify screwing it over?

And because of LeBron, not telling us so we could do SOMETHING, we went from the closest team to winning a title in years here to far from a NBA team. The way he did this makes it hard for every Ohioan to enjoy what he brought us. That's something you guys just won't be able to understand I guess.

From a basketball standpoint, he exercised his right as a FA. We knew for 2 years that there was a possibility LeBron would leave. His douchey behavior in regards to the Decision didn't affect the Cavalier product before or after he left. In fact, it probably made things better for the Cavs because it gave the fanbase something to rally behind, which is why this crappy team is near the top of the league in attendance.

After the Decision, the Cavs still haven't done anything. Why should you or I believe anything would have been different had LeBron let them know following their playoff loss to Boston? Obviously Gilbert and co. believed this current team was good enough to maybe make the playoffs without LeBron.

Rally behind? Season ticket holders had to renew during last season. So this year's attendence numbers are a sham.

And you know what? We'll never know because Gilbert never had a chance to do anything. LeBron indeed didn't notify him, so we'll never know. We could've signed free agents while they were still out there, gotten a different coach, acquire picks for the draft to start building now etc... What he said about winning a title before LeBron was after the fact, and I already explained what went on before the decision is what propelled everything, not the decision itself.

And I hate how people believe Cavs fans should remember the good years when we won over 60 the past two years...for the next five years, I'll try and forget we ever had a basketball team rather than remember the bittersweet seasons with the same damn ending: no title (followed by the shenanigans of not shaking hands, feeling sad for himself when he performs this way, ripping the jersey off his back)...the same seasons we should be "proud of".

I wasn't aware that 100% of Cleveland's attendance is occupied by season ticket holders. I also wasn't aware that a renewing of those tickets meant those customers are required to attend the games, including those against bad teams (those same season ticket holders for other 'bad' teams simply don't go to half the games they receive in their season ticket package).

And you know what? We'll never know because Gilbert never had a chance to do anything. LeBron indeed didn't notify him, so we'll never know. We could've signed free agents while they were still out there, gotten a different coach, acquire picks for the draft to start building now etc...

He's had a chance to do something since, and has failed to do anything. It's almost like he's refused to rebuild. And he also had a chance to do something in the 7 years LeBron was in town, and the best he could could do was get Mo Williams, and a 34 year old Antawn Jamison for half a season. Meanwhile, in 7 years of Dwight Howard the Magic drafted Jameer, and acquired Hedo, VC, Lewis, J-Rich and Arenas. The Celtics got KG, Allen and drafted Rondo to put around Pierce. The Lakers drafted Bynum, got Gasol, Odom and Artest to put around Kobe.

Gotten a different coach? Byron Scott was in line to replace Phil Jackson, and he's been to two Finals and was the coach that helped bring the Hornets back to prominence. He was probably the best head coach available this past off-season.

You guys won no titles before LeBron, never had a 60 win season, and never had the pleasure of having an MVP (let alone 2x MVP) on the roster. You guys never had the same kind of national publicity. LeBron gave you all of that. It's a LOT more than about half the league's franchises have experienced in their entire histories.

So, for you guys not to be grateful is [expletive]ing PATHETIC, whiny and has little justified reason. You were spoiled by LeBron the time you had him, and when you guys struggle for the next decade to get back on your feet, you'll realize just how lucky you were.

If I were a Cleveland fan, I'd hate the guy too. I don't think it is unjustified.

I'm not talking about liking or hating the guy. I'm talking about the ungratefulness for what he did while he was there, along with a myriad of other accusations, assumptions, and blinded hate.

I think they served him just as much as he served them. They put out the money for his jerseys, bought tickets to see him, traveled to see him play on the road, purchased his shoes, made him the next best thing to a god in the city of Cleveland, put up massive banners and murals with him on them...so, yeah, he got the respect while he was there.

Once he disrespected Cleveland, they gave him a taste of his own medicine.

All this is, from LeBron, is an attempt to become the villain, to gain even more attention, much like what he does when he re-tweets people when they say he is the greatest and how much they love him.

So, no sympathy here, and I don't blame anyone in Cleveland for being mad.

No way. Pretty much any team could have given LeBron those same luxories, he would have had God-like fan support, and still would have received Nike contracts and such. However, not every superstar could do what he did for that team. MAYBE Kobe, and MAYBE Wade...that's it, and I think even those two are stretching it.
