Built Ford Tough
TORONTO (AP)—The Toronto Raptors have signed Sundiata Gaines(notes) to a 10-day contract. The 6-foot-1 guard played in college at Georgia and has spent time in the NBA with Minnesota and Utah. He also spent time with the Idaho Stampede of the NBA’s development league last season. Gaines was released by the Timberwolves on Jan. 4. In eight games, he had 21 points, six assists and 65 minutes. He played in 32 games with Utah last season, averaging 3.3 points, 1.2 assists and 6.8 minutes. The Raptors’ roster stands at 15 players, and Gaines will be available for Friday’s home game against Detroit http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AloXVCxEHk3k38yc0CgpF9m8vLYF?slug=ap-raptors-gaines Raptors tradition of 10-day point guard scrubs continues! Now only if he can match the awesomeness that was Andre Barret and Omar Cook. Those are some real big shoes to fill. I'm kind of surprised they didn't go out and sign Bobby Brown to a 10-day, though. There was so much talk about how much they liked him during Summer League and all of that. I don't know where he is playing right now, nor do I really care all that much, but that could be why they went with Gaines instead. On a more serious note, Bayless tweaked his ankle again in practice yesterday, and is doubtful for the game against Detroit tonight. So Gaines will probably actually see some playing time tonight. *Swish*
He's a beast. If he plays solid minutes he could really help us off the bench giving some rest to Demar Derozan

If he plays solid minutes he could really help us off the bench giving some rest to Demar Derozan He sucks. If he was a "beast" why on earth would a team like Minnesota cut him? Also, the last thing the Raptors need is some scrub to take minutes away from DeRozan.
Doc
And anything this pick up for more for Calderon and Bayless to rest because they are hurt. Not Demar.
