*Swish*
The Clippers are open to dealing center Chris Kaman prior to next month's trade deadline, but they may only do so for a clear upgrade at small forward. Also, Los Angeles wants that player to have a reasonable contract. Kaman has been sidelined for all but 10 games this season with a badly sprained left ankle. Potential trade targets like Philadelphia's Andre Iguodala and Charlotte's Gerald Wallace may be ruled out because of their contracts. Detroit's Tayshaun Prince has an expiring contract. That would give the chance to Blake Griffin and Deandre Jordan to develop faster and have a better sf in the starting line-up instead of having Ryan Gomes in it. Damn that would be a sick deal to have Iggy or Wallace
NomarFachix
Kaman for Shawne Williams =)
Owner Real Deal Posted January 15, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted January 15, 2011 Yeah, DeAndre looks like he could be a legit starter for a full season. The dude is shooting 69% from the floor, too...saw that the other day during a Clips game. Not sure what it was with him, but Kaman came out for this season missing shots, even easy layups. He was playing outside of the paint a bit more, but even with those short jumpers and hooks, he wasn't hitting anything but the front of the rim. Probably a good idea to upgrade at the SF position, maybe bring in another defensive player.
AllenIverson#1fan
DeAndre's doing real well. I like what they're doing. This is a good idea.
fish7718
Don't see why they'd want to stunt Aminu's progression by bringing in another SF to put ahead of him, Aminu has looked nice.
The Truth
Don't see why they'd want to stunt Aminu's progression by bringing in another SF to put ahead of him, Aminu has looked nice.I completely agree. trading for an overpaid SF when they already have a talented rookie in Aminu is totally foolish. what they need to do is package that $12M Gomes contract with Kaman and deal them both for an expiring contract and a couple picks. that way, they can extend DeAndre Jordan and Ike Diogu and sign another player or two in the offseason.
