Flash
Clay Matthews said the stewardess on theplane was talking all about her and hersituation, and told them all she would bewaiting there because she ran to the airportafter her radiation treatment. But I guess he wasn't listening well enough tohear about all of that, or maybe see her thereafter they all got off the plane, or evenacknowledge any of the fans that were there tosee and greet them there. Meanwhile, otherplayers were smiling and stopping to give autographs, but that's ok, let's all give A-Rod apass. That's a nice Haiku you wrote there. Jay Cutler is still a doucher. Flash
Well, if Bearfans latest post is true, then I take back this statement and will say that Rodgers is a dick for that. He could've been sleeping on the plain or had his headphones on.
fish7718
Lol whether you are wearing headphones or not, I think every athlete knows what a fan wants when they walk past them and they are holding a pen and a shirt out. Sad people are defending this lol like people defending lebron when he threw his clothes to the towel boy
Lkr
Lol whether you are wearing headphones or not, I think every athlete knows what a fan wants when they walk past them and they are holding a pen and a shirt out. Sad people are defending this lol like people defending lebron when he threw his clothes to the towel boyhe walked past EVERYONE. sometimes its easier to give nothing to everyone than have some [expletive] because someone got something everyone else didn't. you think romo is signing autographs every 5 seconds of his day? apparently Rodgers did stuff for her in Philly, so its not like he has done nothing to make up for it(how long ago did this happen?). hell, do we even know when the incident took place? was it yesterday? Phightins
Who said anything about the law? It's just the right thing to do... Forgetting the "cancer patient" part of the equation for a second, you have clearly never seen a professional athlete get mobbed for autographs before. Yeah, I am sure most of those guys would love to sign for everybody that asks them, but it is next to impossible. If you ever get the chance to be at the airport/train station when a team arrives, you will know what I am talking about.

In that camera shot, yes, there was just one fan. Airports are big places. That short video clip makes Rodgers look bad, but it doesn't tell us the whole story. Stupid to make judgements based on that.

ChosenOne
Cancer patient snubbed by Rodgers comes out in his defense Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers(notes) was under fire this weekend when a local news station showed a clip of him brushing past a cancer patient desperate for his autograph. But just as the criticism was intensifying, an unlikely source came to Rodgers' defense: the very woman he ignored, Jan Cavanaugh. Before you rush to judgment, watch the video that started the firestorm: This led to a bunch of self-serving hand-wringing in the media, particularly from NBC's Mike Florio, who wrote that Rodgers treated Cavanaugh like a "panhandler with leprosy" and insinuated that the quarterback was a bad person for ignoring the autograph request. Cavanaugh heard comments like this and responded to the local ABC affiliate, WBAY. From an article on the station's website: The video has drawn criticism but the only people Jan is critical of today are those creating the chatter. "I am very unhappy with people making so much out of this, because this really isn't that big of a deal. It's up to the players to decide who they want to give an autograph to, and that's their prerogative." Just a week earlier, Rodgers autographed Jan's pink jersey bearing the number 12 as the team departed for Philadelphia. A few years ago the now-star quarterback signed a number of things for her, too. Not surprising that a woman fighting cancer with a positive outlook has a solid perspective on things. The Florios of the world are correct when they say that NFL players owe their fame and riches to fans and, as a result, should be accommodating to them whenever possible. But to suggest that Aaron Rodgers needs to sign every single autograph for every person isn't a reasonable request. VIDEO
