The Regime
Which former #1 overall pick would you rather build your team around? Both Griffin and Rose are dynamic, athletic, and have extremely high ceilings. Griffin could very well be the best rookie big man since Tim Duncan or Shaquille O'Neal, but you have to be wary about his wrecklessness. The fact that Blake Griffin is still a very raw offensively and defensively makes him a really tempting choice. On the other hand Rose is a guy who has unlimited ability and drive as proven by this year as he has added the three ball to his repertoire and has become a more rounded scorer. Stats don't mean much since they are playing at different positions, but I'll throw them up just for the heck of it. Derrick Rose:PPG 24.7 RPG 4.7 APG 8.0 SPG 1.1 BPG 0.7 FG% 0.448 FT% 0.812 3P% 0.379 MPG 38.0 Blake Griffin:PPG 22.8 RPG 12.9 APG 3.5 SPG 0.7 BPG 0.6 FG% 0.522 FT% 0.617 3P% 0.600 MPG 37.
AboveLegit
Easily Griffin. In 20 or so years, I truly believe we'll be seeing Blake as one of the top 5 PF's ever. He's already significantly better than his comparison, Shawn Kemp, and is having a better rookie year than Charles Barkley had. The scary thing is, his stats continue to improve, and he's getting more and more comfortable with his game. When he develops a better defensive game and some go to moves with his back to the basket, he's going to be deadly.
Nitro
Griffin. Due to his size, he has higher potential as a PF than Rose, a natural SG, does at PG.
Owner Real Deal Posted January 24, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted January 24, 2011 Blake, for reasons already stated. Rose is a boss, but Griffin is a beast. If he develops a consistent jumper (and it looks like he will, eventually), he's going to be unstoppable, and will draw more doubles than Rose has ever seen. Newman
Griffin would make Chris Duhon's APG stat looks like Chris Paul's.
Lemon
Griffin is developing so fast, it's ridiculous. Gotta watch for the sophomore slump though. I'm hoping that the Clipper curse doesn't reach him.
