Lkr
Popular opinion is that Ryan's antics are annoying. However, it has cemented the belief into his players that they are better than the opposition. It also gives them reason to fight for the coach they love. They don't want to see him eat crow. He sticks up for them and takes the blame after losses, and they want to defend him by winning when he says something silly. By doing nothing this weekend, he didn't give his team that extra bit of motivation. He didn't give them that extra reason to tackle as hard or the extra push on a 4th and inches on the goal line. In my opinion, Rex Ryan remains one of the most misunderstood coaches in the league. He says silly things and gets blasted for it, however by blasting him, you fall into his trap of being a masterful motivator for his team. And lets be honest, apart from the OLine, every player on that team's work ethic and talent has been called into question. JYD
Guys love to play for him. He's a good football coach. Does he go over the line sometimes? Yes. But I like him. I'd want him as my coach if I were playing.
The Crew
I'm starting to get the feel that he isn't the right guy for a head coaching position. That offense has struggled under his entire tenure, and many of the decisions, such as playcalls and timeout usage, have been shoddy. Great coordinator? Without a doubt? Great head coach? Still up in the air.

The same team that was in a rut with Herm Edwards and Eric Mangini for years... And the offense was stagnant far before he got there. They've been conservative as [expletive] offensively for the entire decade pretty much...They'll start to get more aggressive next year...guarantee it. I just feel his talk brings too much attention to the team, and that the offense isn't good enough to shoulder that. But, this was supposed to be a great running game, but it became stagnant as the season wore on. Rex/Schottenheimer gave up on the run game too early. fish7718
The Jets getting beat by a team better then them led to their demise, nothing more. Stop trying to find excuses and reasons to back up Rex Ryan and your opinion on his antics.

They brought in Tomlinson to improve the passing game as well. They have so many weapons to throw the ball. But they called the games like they were still a ground n pound team. That's where they got stuck sometimes. Now, against the Steelers, they called a solid game. You're not running on Pitt.
Lkr
I think everything offense is in the control of Schottenheimer. If you want to criticize it, fair enough, but Sanchez grew leaps and bounds from his rookie season. The loss of Thomas Jones was huge, but they were able to make LT somewhat relevant again. If you're complaining about game management in the Steelers game, reports indicated that there were headset problems, so they had problems communicating plays in at the end of the game.
