*Swish*
Do you think there will ever be a Female Coach in the NBA?

Newman
No, I don't think so. I believe it will be too hard for a female head coach, unless she has a pedigree of Nancy Lieberman (who is coaching in the D-League and whose record/reputation as a coach there is unknown to me), to earn the respect of NBA players. SRV
Nope.....not one has even been mentioned, and teams usually look within the league and their own teams to find their new coaches. A female coach can't just pop in out of nowhere. Not ruling it out, but I don't see it any time soon. I think Pat Summit could do it, but she is definitely not interested. Hawks Fly High
How would she give locker room talks? lol
YugoRocketsFan
No, why would a bunch of 7 footers want to listen to a woman. If a female coach went to the NBA, it'd be a disaster imo.

Dash
You guys are freaking sexists. Its not really sexist when its true. No, I don't think so. I believe it will be too hard for a female head coach, unless she has a pedigree of Nancy Lieberman (who is coaching in the D-League and whose record/reputation as a coach there is unknown to me), to earn the respect of NBA players. I don't know how Lieberman is working out in the d-league but this post pretty much sums up on my thoughts. D-league is much, much more different than the NBA though.

JYD
Eventually, yes...but probably not within the next 10 or 15 years...I could see it 20 years down the road though. I'm sure in the 70's or 80's if you asked if there was going to be a black president a lot would've said no, or maybe 30 years down the road...I think it's similar here. Multi-Billionaire
You can't just have a very good woman coach to coach in NBA... motivating unmotivated millionaires athletes is a tall task. However, I believe it can be done... but only a select few can do it, those who have "mystic aura" and command respect... Pat Summit comes to mind (actually she might be the only one that can do it). Nancy Lieberman looks clueless too often for me. Doris Burke lmao If anyone does it, it's Pat Summit.
