The Regime
I'm told that there's at least one prominent Laker who hopes he's the guy who gets shipped out in the next 20-odd days. One source close to the situation insists that Ron Artest wants out. Asked to react to that, Artest's agent David Bauman declined comment. http://espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=stein_marc&page=Artest-110202

Dr. Feelgood
Come to Portland Ron Ron, we'll give the Lakers Babbitt instead... In all seriousness though, that's sad that he wants out. He worked hard last year, changed his act and was a contributing factor to the Lakers championship run, making some very key shots in games. *Swish*
Not that easy when you're under contract on a team... I really don't know what to expect from Mitch's moves. But I think he will trade Artest because he's not the same since he's won that ring. I think he just wanted a ring and now, he's just chilling on the court popping up random shot and not playing the defense he used to play last year and in the past. I think Lakers should try to acquire Josh Smith by trading Shannon Brown and Ron Artest for Jeff Teague and Josh Smith

Owner Real Deal Posted February 2, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted February 2, 2011 Don't even care. Trade him for whatever. Phil doesn't play him late in the game anyway, and he's a huge liability on offense. The only person he's defended well this season is Kevin Durant. NomarFachix
You're easily the most retarded poster I have ever come across. He's retarded because you think it's realistic to deal Artest and a pick for Batum? Seems like reversed logic.

The Regime
He's retarded because you think it's realistic to deal Artest and a pick for Batum? Seems like reversed logic. Batum was on the market, so I simply threw out a proposal. And I honestly don't think that this trade is a stretch. Lakers have had good success trading for guys they want. I've been wanting to call out Swish for a while now, but someone always beats me to the punch. It's more than just his posts in this topic. The Truth
I honestly don't think that this trade is a stretch.oh, it's definitely a stretch. that's one of the most homer trade proposals I've ever seen. Batum is already a better player than Artest and he's nine years younger. Edited February 2, 2011 by HOV

Lakers have had good success trading for guys they want. Artest is a bad contract who looks aged and isn't doing much of anything well. Batum is young, blossoming kid under team control for the next three seasons. The Blazers said earlier in the season that they'd want a young player comparable to Batum and a likely lottery 1st if they were to trade him... I don't think Artest and a pick (which will be late) is a reasonable offer. Most recently, the Blazers brass have informed Batum and made public statements that they're not trading him.

So basically the Lakers are going to force the Blazers into trading them Batum just by wanting him hard enough. Kupchak ftw.
The Regime
Got this off TLN. On a night Kobe Bryant got a double-double in points and assist, shoot 13-25 (that's 52% from the field) for 32 points and garnering 11 assists, Daniel Artest had this to say: Pass the (bleep) ball. I'd knocked Kobe out in the locker room. Kobe didn't want the ball Fish can't guard brooks Now Ron doesn't start OT. Man (bleep) this team. LA should trade Ron then I kinda want LA to lose. Oh Ron is in the game. Wow Phil. Seriously Laker fans? Having a party for the Pau trade anniversary? Smh. F--k it. We SA 40-7 LA wins. Still won't catch SA tho in regards to Marc Stein's ESPN report of Ron wanting to be traded, this is what Daniel said: STEIN_LINE_HQ For real? I am not a source. I'd never leak any info on my brother to any media. What I tweet is my thoughts only. Marc Stein just reads my twitter. So I'm not really sure how valid the Ron Artest rumors are, they could just be based off Ron Artests brother. We'll just have to wait and find out. kingfish
Theres no way hed want to be traded, hes got it made in LA. He has not done his job this year though.

AboveLegit
No contending team wants to take the risk by trading valuable assets away for Ron, and we all know how much of a ballhog he is on the bad teams from his days with the Kings. And then you have to mention his contract. Add it up and you have one of the most difficult players to trade in the league. I've heard the Lakers wanting to trade for Kirk Hinrich, but I can't imagine what the Wizards would be getting in return.
Dr. Feelgood
Well, like the TWolves, the Wizards are collecting forwards (Lewis, Thornton, Blatche, Yi, Howard), so maybe they'd be interested in trading Hinrich for Artest.
