Owner Real Deal Posted February 3, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted February 3, 2011 Kobe Bryant on critics: "Don't know, don't care," Kobe Bryant said when asked if the team was being criticized too harshly. "People that criticize, they can all kiss my ass. I don't give a s---. I really don't. I keep the train moving. We're gonna keep on moving and in June, they'll say nothing. For now, it's good talk."http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/news/story?id=6084434&campaign=rss&source=NBAHeadlines

Owner Real Deal Posted February 3, 2011 Author Owner Report Share Posted February 3, 2011 He said something like this last year, in the second half of the season...can't find the quote though. Also, he was pretty rude when asked about his injuries back in October/November.
Flash
I just get the vibe lately that he's frustrated with the guys around him right now. You can tell he expected a lot more from them so far this season.
AboveLegit
Last 10 games for Kobe: 32pts41pts38pts21pts18pts21pts21pts27pts27pts29pts And he's only hit under 50%FG twice. Phil said that the guys need to start establishing position, demanding for the ball, and being more aggressive. Kobe clearly is in midseason form now, he got his shooting touch back now, so it's not hurting them as much when they constantly pass the ball around for 15 or so seconds, turning down shots, and just playing lazy. They shoot themselves in the foot that way and don't hustle because Kobe has been making his shots. But in a seven game series, that type of offense just won't work, so they need everyone else to step up. You can't rely on Kobe every trip down the floor. Owner Real Deal Posted February 3, 2011 Author Owner Report Share Posted February 3, 2011 I just get the vibe lately that he's frustrated with the guys around him right now. You can tell he expected a lot more from them so far this season.Yeah, and he has a right to be. On Gasol's site, his writer criticized Kobe for not having any assists in the Boston game (even though Kobe picked them apart). Then, just last night, Kobe dropped seven assists in the first quarter against Houston, ended up with 11, scored efficiently, and we still nearly lost...and Gasol didn't throw a single assist despite taking 21 shots. The team relies on Bryant to do everything...score, facilitate, whatever it takes...and guys like Gasol and Artest aren't doing their jobs. Pau is playing more like a small forward and not playing in the post, not being aggressive, while Ron still thinks he's playing exceptional defense and producing on the offensive end. Both players are playing their worst seasons as Lakers, Artest the worst season of his career...but you couldn't tell by our record because Kobe and Odom are holding down the fort. Crazy enough, Odom is our second best player.
