La Bomba
Pretty disappointing, in my opinion. Lyrically, Lupe brings it as usual, but the hooks and beats are garbage.

JYD
Yeah it's out today^... I think it's pretty sick. Definitely a different sound for Lupe, absolutely more commercialized than you'd want out of Lupe, but I think it's very very good for what it is. The only song I don't care for is the one with Trey Songz...outside of that, I love them all.
YugoRocketsFan
I thought the album was mediocre, i'll give it a 2/
Flash
Lupe made his bed now he has to sleep in it. He really has no one to blame but himself IMO. His whole outlook on music is retarded. Edited March 9, 2011 by Charlie Sheen

His whole outlook on music is retarded. What? You do realize he has nothing to do with the album falling short of expectations, right? The lyrics are very good, Atlantic Records is the one to blame. Everyone can tell his record company had a strong presence in the album. As a whole, it sounded like two musical mindsets colliding, and you can tell which tracks were forced. Lupe is still one of the best in the game right now.

Jenneral
The first song seems like it had potential, but in the end the music is just way too loud and the voices are soft and muffled. Terrible way to start off a cd. -_-
JYD
I really am enjoying this album. Yeah, it's not mixtape Lupe or Food and Liquor Lupe, but it's something different from him though and I like that. It is still going to be one of the best hip-hop albums of 2011. ballorama
I like most of the songs on here, Beautiful Lasers, Show Goes on, Words I never said, Letting Go etc. all are good tracks.. the chorus on Beautiful Lasers is horrrrrrrrible tho.. but overall I like it.. not as good as The Cool for sure tho. JYD
I really like this album a lot. I can listen to the entire thing without skipping any tracks, which is rare for me, lol. It's definitely a lot different than The Cool, which is what I like so much. I can still listen to the cool and f&l and not feel like i'm hearing 'the same old lupe...' No doubt has a mainstream vibe but that's not always bad especially when you still have good lyricism from Lupe. I'm very surprised by the hate/neg reviews it's gotten. But to each his own, I guess. Either way, I'm sure Lupe will drop a mixtape within the next 3-4 months. He's got to be sitting on a hundred tracks (if not more), not releasing an album for almost four years...so, he'll probably drop one of those 25-30 minute mixtapes like enemy of the state before or during summer.
