The Regime
Lakers coach Phil Jackson said Lamar Odom would offer the West All-Star team the most versatility in being able to do different things and guard different players — making him the "most advantageous player" to be chosen. But Jackson also said he wouldn't mind Odom, who played over the summer with USA Basketball, getting rest over All-Star Weekend. What about Pau Gasol? "He'll do well in that forum," Jackson said, setting up his punchline: "He won't play that hard anyway." http://www.ocregister.com/sports/odom-287003-jackson-star.html

EastCoastNiner
He's easily the biggest [expletive]-hole in the league, and much bigger than M.J. was who I think was the biggest douche to play in the NBA, that actually had skill. Maybe Phil should learn how to actually coach. It seems like it's tough for him to coach when his perennial all-stars year after year are struggling. Talk about a coach that needs elite talent to look good. Edited February 4, 2011 by EastCoastNiner

The Celtics have 4 all stars, the Magic had 4 all stars a couple years back, the Pistons had 4 all stars one year. Phil definitely plays a huge role in the Lakers success, as usual you just say retarded things. Edited February 4, 2011 by kingfish

The what have you done for me lately attitude I am seeing from Laker fans is so annoying. Pau is putting up almost identical numbers to last year when he was an all-star, he is having a better individual year than Odom this year and is the team's 2nd best player. I know you want to insult Pau because he isn't playing like you want lately, but don't be a moron. Leave it to a Laker fan to belittle an 18.4 and 10.5 player with 2 blocks on 13.7 shots, not to mention 3.6 assists which is nice as hell. Then the last two months he fell off tremendously, averaging 16 and 9 for each month in December and January, on 48 % and 50 % for each month (not good for a 7 footer with Kobe Bryant on your team). So his averages are about the same as last year overall. But hes played horrible in the Boston game, horrible vs San Antonio, horrible vs Miami, horrible against Chicago, and decent against Dallas. Inconsistency shouldnt net you an all star selection, Odom should have made it for being the most consistent Laker so far this season, shooting around 55 % each month (no month under 50 %). Zach Randolph, Lamarcus Aldridge, Kevin Love, maybe even Steve Nash, all should have been all stars over Gasol. Ignorant statements? You probably havent watched a single Laker game this season (its evident you havent watched many), you dont know how soft hes played, especially in the games vs elite teams. So please just do yourself a favor and comment on your Raptors.

Numbers don't always tell the story, but any team in the NBA would take a player that averages better than 18ppg and 10rpg, especially a player like Pau Gasol. You tell him to stick to watching the Raptors and that he hasn't seen many Laker games, so he can't comment, but there's no doubt if you didn't watch any Lakers games, you'd find some way to hype up Kobe and cream your pants over him. I'm sure he's watched multiple Lakers games this year.

Of course any team would take Gasol, I never said I wanted him traded. EastCoastNiner
NBA Give me Greg Popavich over Phil Jackson any day of the week. He's twice the coach Jackson is.
Check my Stats
What Pau has done lately is irrelevant, his stats over the course of the season so far is what matters, and right now he is putting up all-star numbers still and is still having a better individual season than Odom, despite what you may think. All I am saying is quit letting his play lately blind you from the fact he is still putting up all-star numbers this year and is still your team's second best player. If you are going to tell me Tim Duncan and Manu aren't elite than lol. If you're going to tell me Manu Ginobli is elite, then, . He's a very good player, but he's nowhere near being elite. Tim Duncan was an elite player, but Manu was not, and is not, an elite player. There are very few players in this league that are elite, and Manu is not one of them. Maybe you can learn some vocabulary words, such as elite?

So according to ECN Larrry Brown is GOAT? Edited February 7, 2011 by magicbalala245
