Art
http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/3010/detroit.png The New Orleans Hornets announced today that they have acquired center Emeka Okafor from the Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for center Tyson Chandler. “Emeka is one of the premier centers in the NBA with All-Star caliber scoring and rebounding averages throughout his career,” said Hornets General Manager Jeff Bower. “His potential to improve is endless once you put him on the court running with Chris Paul. We appreciate what Tyson has done for our club in the past and wish him the best, but our intention this summer was to improve our team and this trade is definitely a positive move in that direction.” Okafor (6-10, 235), a five-year veteran, has averaged a double-double his entire career, averaging 14.0 points, 10.7 rebounds and 1.9 blocked shots in 330 games over five seasons with the Bobcats. Last season, Okafor averaged 13.2 points, 10.1 rebounds and 1.7 blocks while playing all 82 games. NBA.com/HORNETS Edited July 28, 2009 by Ya Dig! The Goods
Hornets are going to have to take on a big contract, but they got the better player in this deal.

He's still improving and he'll be getting passes from the best PG on the planet.
Guest N4S
I really dont see the big deal in this trade. Both players are equal IMO.
His Greatness
If it's for cap relief down the road, couldn't Charlotte at least do better than Chandler?
xx.
Still dont know what the Bobcats we're doing. They just saw last season how much a team gave away for Chandler which wasnt that much and now they just go and give up Okafor straight up for Chandler. Actually, I can see why they did this on the other hand. Okafor has been going down hill even though he has averaged a double double every single season of his career which is real good but he hasnt done anything to bring the team to the next level. Chandler is a lot more versatile for the teams style of play like he did with CP3. It could really work out for the Bobcats or be a really bad move.
