ChosenOne
Melo for Noah and Deng? Would this be a good trade for either the Bulls or the Nuggets? I personally am kinda split on it.
The Truth
I honestly don't think Chicago would ever make that deal. even if Melo signed the extension, Noah means too much to the franchise and he's too young to give up right now. if they were to trade for Melo, they'd probably give up Taj Gibson and picks along with Deng rather than Noah. Owner Real Deal Posted February 10, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted February 10, 2011 I wouldn't do it if I were Chicago, but Denver would jump on it. Noah and Deng are two of the top 3-4 defenders on the best defensive team in the NBA. If the Bulls want to contend, they will need a big man that can defend (not going to be Boozer) and a wing that can defend (not going to be Korver). If the trade goes down? C - Boozer (undersized center, can't defend the five at all)PF - Gibson (decent defender, not an offensive threat and shouldn't be a starter)SF - MeloSG - Bogans (team needs a new SG)PG - Rose I like Chicago having the ball in Rose's hands. Melo can't be a spot-up shooter, and this isn't an equal-opportunity offense like the triangle. Chicago is good where they stand. All they need is a healthy Noah, and a contributing, starting SG.
reno
Honestly, if I was the bulls gm, i would make the trade. Seem to be playing fine without noah, still number 1 defense in league or w/e, and what good is he if hes constantly getting hurt? Might as well trade deng while his stock is still high, before the real deng shows up.
Newman
I am not too high on Melo personally, so I won't give both Deng and Noah for him. When we face teams like the Celtics or the Magic, we have absolutely no chance without Noah to beat them in a four-game series. Melo would be locked down to around 15 PPG and his defensive awareness is too low to play under Thibodeau.

I imagine the big three would get theirs but I think they'd still struggle. Obviously they wouldn't be as good as Miami but I think they'd still be a top 4 team in the East. Check my Stats
I would only give up Noah at this point for him, Deng would be a nice trading piece for a starting big. I am a big believer in quality over quantity, but the Bulls would be really thin, and with how they are playing now, considering their SG situation, you have to think this is a team that can make noise as they stand now, with some minor improvements. They should be working to get a better SG if they can, not a superstar necessarily, especially one that is pretty 1-dimensional, Noah and Boozer compliment each other perfectly so it is really hard for me, from a Bulls perspective, to split that up. Like I said, I like what the Bulls have, I like how their roles are defined perfectly, this is a team that is a competent starting SG away from being a contender, it really is a shame they missed out on Joe Johnson in FA.
ChosenOne
What if the Bulls are able to get another player like Smith in the trade by giving up some picks or something to Denver would it be worth it then? Edit: I would say yes becuse that would help them greatly at the SG position as well. Edited February 10, 2011 by ChosenOne
*Swish*
I think the Bulls would be better right now than without Noah and Deng. Noah gives them length and important presence down the paint as well as really good defense rebounding and hustle. Melo is a great player but if I was the Bulls GM, I wouldn't give up 2 of my best players.

Guru
Chicago would be so [expletive]ed against the Magic or Celtics in the playoffs. I wouldn't really like this move for Chicago.
