2011 Grammy Awards

Recovery was the best rap album by any mainstream hip-hop artist last year, but individually third worst Eminem album. It's a lot better than Relapse was, but A LOT worse than classics like Slim Shady, MM LP's, and the Eminem Show. Too bad not any semi-mainstream or underground artists never get recognized by big time events like Grammy awards.

Better than How I Got Over and BP3? Ha.

It makes sense how the Roots didn't win because they aren't as popular but the Blueprint 3 killed Em's Recovery.

Guys lets be real. Eminem hasn’t put out a decent album since Encore. The past two albums have been very disappointing and are not as good as before. The reason I believe he gets all these noms is because he is now marketable to the public. Before when he was still ‘drugged’ out and was a winkle in society’s eye, the public did not want to push for it. But now since he is clean, they are able to push him. I still think he is riding out his old fame and a lot of his old fans still want to follow and believe. Don’t get me wrong, we all do it. I did it when Kanye came out with 808s & Heartbreaks. Sure, it wasn’t the best, but I still loved it.

 

You guys just can’t write off Arcade Fire and say they don’t deserve the award. Their album is actually really good and just because they aren’t on mainstream radio doesn’t mean the put out good music. They just don’t fit in the stereotype, doesn’t mean they put out good music. They have been getting bigger and better recently. A lot of people who say, “oh, Eminem should of won” or “who is Arcade fire?” or “what an Arcade fire” most likely just listens to the radio or just keeps their head on one set of music.

 

I guess the only way you can win the main awards in the Grammys now a days is by showing up in eggs, wearing pieces of meat, dressing like a clown, etc.

 

Yes that exactly what AF did.

 

Before you shoot down AF, actually give it a listen.

 

One thing I do love. For Canada, the 3 nominees; Drake, Bieber, and Arcade Fire, in the big awards, AF came on top. Love it haha.

I agree Recovery wasn't anywhere near his best, but he still def has it.

 

Insane, Buffalo Bill, Music Box, Stay Wide Awake, Careful What You Wish For, Cocaine ,Beautiful, Deja Vu, Despicable, Cold Wind Blows, On Fire, Going Through Changes, Almost Famous... to name the most prominent.
