Guest N/A
I didn't want to respond to my own topic, but I want to share my opinion. I'm gonna go with Chris Bosh simply because people considered him to be a superstar when he joined the Big Three yet he is NOTHING close to a superstar. In fact, if you play with two outstanding players like Wade and LeBron wouldn't your numbers get better or barely drop off? That's wrong, Bosh has gotten worse in almost every part of his game this season.
Owner Real Deal Posted February 21, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted February 21, 2011 Deron Williams. He's not the best PG in the NBA. EDIT: Changing my pick to Tim Duncan. See why in a few posts.

ESPN did, did you not watch their coverage of free agency? All they talked about was three superstars joining up.
Flash
Lol @ anyone considering Bosh a superstar. If anything he's been underrated this year but he's by no means a superstar. I'd have to agree with RD here and say Deron Williams but I'll go in a different direction and say Rajon Rondo simply because he racks up assists with 3 hall of famers playing next to him. He's a great point guard, and a terrific passer but he's not as good a player as CP3, Rose, D-Will or Westbrook. He's got the best catch and shoot player in the league, a great pick and pop big man in KG and another solid pick and pop player in Pierce. His assist numbers are very inflated. Dr. Feelgood
I'll be honest, during his Toronto days, I did consider Bosh a superstar, but I think that was just because I really liked the guy so much, but I will say that I don't think he should have even made the All-Star team this year. Owner Real Deal Posted February 21, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted February 21, 2011 I'm changing my pick to Tim Duncan, because I don't think he was an all-star this season, and definitely not a starter. He's got a career low in points, rebounds and nearly field goal percentage (second worst), and even shot attempts, and free throw attempts. fish7718
I didn't want to respond to my own topic, but I want to share my opinion. Why not just write it in the OP then... I don't agree with Bosh, I think Bosh is just hurt by being a third option, obviously he's still a great player, but he's just on a team with 2 better players. LeBron and Wade would make anyone seem over rated. Going into this year I would have said Mo Williams now that he's been exposed I'd say Brook Lopez or Raymond Felton. I think Bosh should be doing better though with the Heat. He averaged a career high in rebounds last year, and his rebounding has dropped a ton this year. I understand Bosh's scoring is gonna go down, but shouldn't his FG% go up because he is getting more open looks?

His rebound numbers have dropped because both Wade and LeBron are excellent rebounds, probably the best rebounding swingmen in the league whereas he was playing next to Bargnani who doesn't rebound at all last year. All you need to look at is how we play without Chris in the lineup. When he was out with the ankle injury our offense suffered a lot. He's a difference maker for us and he'll have those nights where he'll get 25 or 30. Look at how he played against Boston last weekend. He was the only reason we were still in that game late. IMO he's still the second or third best PF in the game behind Dirk and interchangeable with Amare.

This summer, he was...but mainly by ESPN and a bunch of homers. Bosh's FG% has dropped slightly because he's trying to adjust to being this player he's really not used to playing as. It's understandable, and I won't slam him for that, even though I can't stand the pipe neck. And, it's his second-highest FG% since 2006, and higher than his career average. Does 19/8 get you into the ASG? It probably shouldn't, unless you're an excellent defender (Garnett, Horford), but the East doesn't have much more to choose from. Boozer should've been in there instead, but who knows...

Owner Real Deal Posted February 21, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted February 21, 2011 IMO he's still the second or third best PF in the game behind Dirk and interchangeable with Amare. As much as I hate Gasol this year, Pau would eat his lunch...and Griffin is a double-double monster that passes far, far better than Bosh does. Sadly, even LaMarcus Aldridge is putting up big numbers, and actually winning games with an injured roster, in a tougher conference. I'm not going to say he's overrated, but there's no way he's arguably the second best PF in the NBA. Not a chance. EDIT: Can't leave out Garnett, who is on a team with three other all-stars and is putting up better rebounding numbers, a higher percentage shooting, and is 5,000 times the defender.

When Bosh has his jumper working it makes Miami just a much better team because it allows LeBron and Wade to do their thing, but overall I think Bosh could get more rebounds even with LeBron and Wade on the team. Flash
Carmelo is definitely a candidate... I also vote Chris Bosh. Carmelo is definitely up there because the only reason people mention him in the same league as Wade and LBJ is because they were all drafted together. He's not as complete a player as those 2 IMO. The entire NBA thought he was a superstar, including you. So was Joe Johnson, no one considers him a superstar. Just because he got a max deal doesn't make him a superstar. He was getting one wherever he signed because he's a top 10-15 player in the NBA.

Unlike Bosh who could've gotten the max from SEVERAL teams.

Guest N/A
Let us all not forget that Rudy Gay got a max contract in the offseason as well. These small market teams had to overpay just so their All-Star caliber players would stay on their teams. This doesn't mean they're superstars, it just means they're overpaid. The guy has been severely underrated his whole career and has never received the attention he deserved. At least he is more of an all-star than Shaq was in the last years he was making it. I think part of it is his team's record and he is still the leader of that team.
