Lkr
OTR members from 2006-08, you should remember these. I forgot a few though I think. I remember our plans for success revolved around moving pieces and obtaining one of the following:Jermaine O'NealAl HarringtonKevin Garnett The bolded names indicate situations that would have been terrible for us looking back at it Wasn't there also a desire to sign Marcus Banks? Looking back at these, its hilarious to see how bad some of these players we wanted were. Of course its a testament to how bad the team was too. Only guy that would have been better than what we ended up getting would have been Garnett.

Owner Real Deal Posted February 21, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted February 21, 2011 I'm not really sure if Garnett would've been better for us. He busted his knee and hurt Boston's chances at a repeat. I wanted Ron Artest badly back in 2007. Remember the Boozer rumor? It's crazy that I was ready to deal Odom and Drew for Garnett OR Jermaine. I also remember a huge amount of the fanbase were wanting Gerald Green and James White in the draft. Good times. We were just scrambling for help. GamerGuy
I remember Odom and Bynum being involved in all those rumors. Garnett, Boozer, Jermaine, McGrady...I remember those all-nighters I used to pull on the trade deadline hoping the Lakers got someone. Ya know, looking back I'm really, really glad we didn't make any of those trades.
The Artesticle
i wanted Mitch to trade LO/Drew for JO. What a disaster that would've been...
Force
haha..McGrady, Boozer, JO, Kidd, Garnett,, one of them always got our hopes up during this time and we were always so disapppointed once the trade deadline passed. I also remember the 2008/2009 plan they used to talk about in 2006/2007 so we could sign somebody big lol.. The pick of Bynum over Gerald Green was something I'll never forget either, I was so pissed that day lol. Looking back now...wow lol. Check my Stats
LA should have made the move of Bynum and whatever for Kidd/JO/KG or whoever it was at the time. They were getting a potential all-star, a player, that best case scenario Bynum would become comparable to, not to mention how it would have appeased Kobe. They gambled big time holding onto Odom/Bynum, and it paid off, but I still think they were crazy for not pulling the trigger on those deals. ?QuestionMark?
These were the dark ages of Lakers basketball. I mean, seriously, we had Kwame Brown, Smush Parker, and Luke Walton as starters, and Brian Cook was getting meaningful minutes. It doesn't get any worse than that. I was ready to jump all over most of these deals. LA was wanting to get Antonio Daniels as well which I was in favor of (and Banks too), just so Smush wouldn't start anymore. I was even wanting JO for LO/Bynum when it looked like Kobe was demanding a trade. That was out of sheer desperation since I don't think anyone would have ever believed at the time the the Grizz would trade Gasol for Kwame and scraps. So glad things have changed. Although Fisher still sucks and we need a PG to carry us through the season until Fish decides to hit a big shot in the playoffs.
