The Regime
Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge has publicly acknowledged the need for backcourt reinforcements thanks to the Marquis Daniels' bruised spinal cord and Delonte West's spotty health all season. After the name of Cleveland's Anthony Parker surfaced Friday as a player that Boston has joined conference rival Chicago in pursuing, sources said Monday that the Celtics and Rockets have likewise discussed the prospect of Battier moving East. http://espn.go.com/blog/TrueHoop/post/_/id/25076/sources-celtics-rockets-discuss-battier-deal
Warren2ThaG
Boston is clutch, Miami can't touch them.
Dash
Celtics don't have the assets although Bradley and Erden are interesting. @ChrisMannixSI Chris MannixHouston-Boston deal involving Shane Battier not happening, says source close to situation
Sun Tzu
I don't see who the Celtics will be able to give in return for Battier but it will benefit them when Allen or Pierce need a rest.
YugoRocketsFan
I don't think I want anything the Celtics could give us. Shaq, Sheed's contract and a 1st round pick is the only thing I would pull the trigger on.
Newman
If the Celtics can pull this off without losing anyone significant, they are unstoppable.

YugoRocketsFan
lol why in the world would you want Shaq? if Houston trades Battier, they should only be looking for picks and/or young talents. First off, the Rockets aren't trying to rebuild. A trade like that gets us a center that can play about 20-24 mpg, and we get a pick from Boston. The Truth
Shaq would leave in the offseason and he wouldn't get you in the playoffs this year, anyway. he would be a total waste for Houston. they'd be better off chasing Bradley, Erden, or even Harangody. *Swish*
Celtics are still the best defensive team in the NBA so acquiring Battier would definitely be scary!
ChosenOne
Celtics are still the best defensive team in the NBA so acquiring Battier would definitely be scary! Not really lol, Battier has lost a step and really would not be able to do to much against players like LeBron amd Wade. He can still play defense but not even close to the level he was at in past years.
Check my Stats
P and Allen are dying to be playing Tim Duncan type minutes i Bet lol.
Owner Real Deal Posted February 22, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted February 22, 2011 That would absolutely suck. Battier's defense has fallen off only because there's no Yao in the frontcourt. It's well-known that Shane's defensive play relies heavily on defensive anchors and help, and if he was playing in Boston, he would have the same effect as Posey did.
htown11
Ya for those who haven't seen much Battier this year age is starting to really show. He would still help the Celtics, he's a leader in the locker room and has incredible basketball IQ. I don't see what the Rockets can get from Boston that's all that significant, it would be nice to see Battier play for a contender he's a huge fan favorite here but I don't think the Rockets should do a charity trade lol but Chris Mannix already shot down this rumor the other day. Let's admit I don't really follow the Rockets this year
