Isiah Thomas not "running" Knicks

Why is James Dolan still trusting this guy after all the money Isiah has cost him?

He's still one of the greatest players of all-time. And the thing about Isiah is he tried to find 'short-term' fixes when someone really need to come in there, be patient, and wait on the bad decisions even before Isiah....so Isiah ended up making things worse...

Great players doesn't equal great GM  The only two decent GMs that were former players I can think of are Joe Dumars and Larry Bird.

But I agree with the short-term fixes as Eddy Curry and Jerome James were looking great for like 2 months and Isiah would quickly snap them up with a huge contract.

What about Pat Riley?

^ I forgot about Riley as a player  Only remember him as a coach. My mistake.

It's no problem.

Yeah, I've seen him play on YouTube, he wasn't bad at all lol.

well the trades like mo taylor, steve francis, etc. etc. were just trying to bring excitement to NY and make the knicks into at least a playoff team until they got out of this financial rut. but in reality it was dumb when he should've just been waiting out the future.

problem is, when you're not a "well known, or respectable" vet in the GM executive business (such as walsh) you'll a. lose your job before you wait it out or b. will seem like a fool for doing nothing as the knicks continue to win 25 games per year..

so you have to put that in perspective to be fair to isiah.

and just based on the fact he was a great player he obviously knows a thing or two about bball. he's also made some good draft picks. and i think he has a good relationship with many current players (like melo) probably because they all grew up idolizing him.
