MainEv3nt
or was melo the right choice? i only ask cus nets got deron cheaper.
kingfish
Yes. They could have gotten Deron and probably kept either Chandler or Gallo. Imagine Deron with Amare too, crazy pick and rolls. So you would have had Deron, with Amare, with Chandler or Gallo, Fields off the bench, and have all the other pieces that they have now. Plus, Melo was going to New York anyway. Then you would had all 3 for sure.
JYD
Hmm. Not sure. We're going to have to wait and see. I think Amar'e and Melo brings you closer to a champ. than Deron and Amar'e. If they could've gotten all three at the end of this season, well of course, it would've been a no-brainer. It is what it is, though. I'm happy with the new team. Still a great chance at CP3 or even D-Will. Who says he'll want to stay in Jersey?
Sun Tzu
I might have preferred to go after Deron, personally. The reason being because I think a duo of Deron and Amare would be more efficient/effective as opposed a duo of Melo and Amare where both are primarily scorers. Paul
Well I was watching NBA TV tonight and they interviewed one of the announcers for the Jazz games and he said that he doesn't want to ruin the confidence that Deron has in him but he pretty much said there is no way in hell that Deron is signing the extension with the Nets. Take it for what it is worth but he sounded pretty clear what Deron's plans were going to be.

kingfish
What makes you think the Jazz would have accepted less than the Nuggets?Because of the deal they got from NJ.
Universe
Utah says they were in it but the Nets package was better.
