Built Ford Tough
The Cleveland Cavaliers are contemplating another major trade, this time to send Antawn Jamison back to the team where he began his career. Sources close to the talks told ESPN.com that the Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors have been discussing trade scenarios Thursday that would send Jamison to Oakland. One source briefed on the talks said the discussions are ongoing but that no trade agreement has yet been reached. It was not immediately clear who Golden State would be willing to part with if the teams indeed came up with a workable trade framework before Thursday’s 3 p.m. trade deadline. A deal to reacquire Jamison would work under the salary cap involving the expiring deal of Troy Murphy, whom Golden State acquired only Wednesday from New Jersey, as well as veteran center Andris Biedrins. If such a deal featured Murphy going to Cleveland for Jamison, it’s believed that the Cavaliers would then buy out Murphy before next Tuesday’s deadline to keep the veteran power forward eligible to appear in the playoffs with another team. http://espn.go.com/blog/TrueHoop/post/_/id/25400/sources-cavs-warriors-talk-jamison-deal I could see Murhpy and a 2nd or something for Jamison going down. Cavs cut a year off of Jamison's deal, buy out Murphy and ge ta 2nd in return for all of that. It seems realistic and I think it may be pretty close to working salary wise, although I haven't looked at any real numbers.
Dash
That would be a nice deal for the Warriors, Jamison struggled in Cleveland but maybe the fast paced Golden State offense will get him back into his groove as they make their push for the playoffs. Owner Real Deal Posted February 24, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted February 24, 2011 Cleveland deciding they want to just tear the walls down even more, I guess? I wonder what motivates Golden State to pull off a deal to bring him back?

I wonder what motivates Golden State to pull off a deal to bring him back? Nuggets and Jazz traded their stars and are rebuilding, there are 2 playoff spots for the taking and the Warriors are probably trying to take advantage even if its likely a first round exit. Built Ford Tough
In this chat that I am constantly reading (and finding most of these "rumors" that I am posting throughout the forum) http://www.basketballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=1504 says that the deal being discussed is Murphy and Biedrins for Jamison. Cavs would then buyout Murphy. Don't know what the Cavs are thinking taking on Biedrins' deal. Isn't is for another 3 or 4 years?
Dash
Interesting that the Cavs would take back Baron Davis and Biedrins but also have two high lottery picks this season. I think Dan GIlbert is hoping to come out with Kyrie Irving + Harrison Barnes in the draft and stick them with veterans in Varejao, Davis and Biedrins and make a playoff push next season. Owner Real Deal Posted February 24, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted February 24, 2011 Biedrins would make sense, if Gilbert is looking to replace Ilgauskas. While Big Z wasn't a defensive anchor, he wasn't horrible...and just having a big that could play half-way decent help defense, and use his size correctly, was one reason why the Cavaliers were an excellent defensive team for years. Keep in mind that Biedrins did enter the league with a defensive mindset. He was never going to turn into an offensive juggernaut. Maybe Gilbert is interested for that reason, and sticking him in the frontcourt with Varejao (who is a very good defender) would help negate the lack of perimeter defense that is assisting in killing the Cavs this season. Built Ford Tough
No deal. STEIN_LINE_HQ: Cavs and Warriors, meanwhile, talked Jamison for Troy Murphy all the way to buzzer but could not come to a deal, presumably regarding picks Sounds like Biedrins wasn't involved at all.
