Dash
Surprised? Kevin Martin has quietly put together one of the best scoring seasons the NBA has rarely ever seen. Martin is averaging 23.3 points per game (44% and 40% from downtown and a whopping 61% true shooting) in just 31 minutes and he's doing it on 15 shot attempts per game. The thing that stands out to me the most is that Adelman has rarely allowed Martin to play big time minutes, mostly because he favors Courtney Lee against more prolific scoring teams but IMO its a crime that Martin hasn't played more minutes. In 36 minutes per game, he averages 26.7 points per game and in the 48 minutes per game stat he averages 35.6 points. In both statistics, Martin narrowly edges out Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant as the leagues leading scorer with less usage % and considerably less field goal attempts. Martin is also on his to becoming the first NBA player (I think) to lead the NBA in free throws made and finish top 3 in 3 pointers made. Not saying that Martin is on a star level but he's easily one of the most underrated players in the NBA (honestly where the hell do people get this overrated crap from?) and if Adelman played his best player some more minutes, he might have been worthy of CONSIDERATION of an All-Star spot. If the Rockets could pair Martin with an all-star caliber big man *cough*Yao*cough* then they could be a lethal team in the playoffs. Check my Stats
Too bad he brings nothing else to the table.
Dash
Too bad he brings nothing else to the table. He's one of the best at what he does, which happens to be 50% of the game anyways. Sure he's not a defensive stopper but neither are Carmelo, etc but he's always given an effort on the defensive end although he's still mediocre. Martin's weaknesses can EASILY be masked with perimeter defenders playing next to him (Battier?) or a center. I'd take Martin over all-around players like Andre Iguodala, who are good at several aspects of the game but don't particularly excel at anything like Kevin. ChosenOne
Too bad he brings nothing else to the table. Haters gonna hate. And how many Rocket games have you watched this season? Kevin Martin is an animal, nothing more can really be said. He also was awarded wests player of the week.
Built Ford Tough
Haters gonna hate. And how many Rocket games have you watched this season? Kevin Martin is an animal, nothing more can really be said. He also was awarded wests player of the week. It isn't really hating, though. What he said is true. I'm not saying that Martin isn't a great scorer because he is (and I've said it numerous times on here before, I think at least, haha). He is one of the most efficient scorers in the league with his ability to hit the three ball and get to the line, the two most important things when it comes to efficient scoring, but other than that he is below average at best in every other area of the game. Poor rebounder, poor playmaker, poor defender, etc... Even with that said, there is no reason to suggest that he can't be a key component of a championship team, either. I wouldn't build around him by any means, but he would be a nice complimentary piece alongside a good, two way big man (basically Yao if he is healthy), a good all around small forward and a good floor general in a point guard. His best role may be as a scorer off of the bench, but you can definitely win in this league with Kevn Martin playing 30-35 minutes a game. You can't win with him being the best or probably 2nd best player on the team, though.

I don't particularly disagree with anything you posted but I do think that Martin could be the second option and the Rockets could still be a top team. Need a healthy Yao Ming and defenders to make it work but its definitely plausible imo.
htown11
He's great but can't build around a guy who has mastered one end only, he's a great piece to have along with a superstar. Sometimes Kevin disappears late in games which becomes a problem, and his effectiveness is brilliant but his teammates do a good job getting him in his spots and finding him. One things for sure his ability get to the line is insane. When T Mac was here he would get so many people on that fake and draw the foul, K Mart makes it look even easier. ChosenOne
Lets hope his value stays high so we can trade him in the offseason Or we can sign some free agents around him and build from there. Lowery, Martin, Scola, Lee, Bud, Patterson, Hayes, we have a solid core already imo if we can get one or two more solid players like Nene and Chandler we can be good ass squad. I dont like that idea at all. You dont build around a player like Martin. I can deal with him being a second option if they get a better defender to play alongside him. Dash
Martin is probably the last person I want the Rockets to trade. Legitimate robin and he's still fairly young.

We have a team right now that is competive every day (Martin has alot to do with that) if we can add a couple of pieces we would beast.
