The Regime
Murphy is going to be fighting for minutes when Boston gets healthy, this signing is overrated.
Universe
Could be a huge signing considering he didn't get much of a chance in NJ but when he did, he was awful.
AboveLegit
Murphy is going to be fighting for minutes when Boston gets healthy, this signing is overrated. No he won't...It's true that Doc will be running the small line up (Garnett as the C), but that's going to be happening down the stretch of games. Jermaine O'Neal, when healthy, still wouldn't get more minutes over Murphy. Shaq and Nenad will be getting minutes for sure, but Murphy will be seeing time behind both KG/Davis and Nenad/Shaq. And if he doesn't get minutes, this signing is still great because they stole him away from Miami, a team where he'd make the biggest impact on. It's a win-win. DaFranchise03
It was a good signing for them but i getting sick of all these players signing cheap to play for contenders.

And if he doesn't get minutes, this signing is still great because they stole him away from Miami, a team where he'd make the biggest impact on. It's a win-win. Murphy is a good rebounder/scorer, but he's a liability on defense and that's why Doc will probably not give him extended minutes. Shaq will probably start at center once he's healthy, and after that Glen Davis will probably hog the remaining minutes at the five unless Celts go small with KG at the five. The Celts have the luxury to play small so they will probably play Jeff Green at the four which will limit Murphy's minutes. Also Jermaine O Neal is still a pretty good rebounder and defensive player so I would certainly give him the nod over Murphy. Murphy will get some minutes but he would have got far more playing time with Miami. I think the Celts purposely targeted him so that he wouldn't sign with the Heat who desperately need frontcourt size. We'll see though, it's tough to make any assumptions yet. DaFranchise03
So it's a bad thing for wanting to get a championship ring? its bad when so many players converge onto a select group of teams. It seems like its happening more than ever. It just means more teams like the Cavs and Timberwolves will be around.
