AboveLegit
You can't be serious man. Rose's defense has always been the knock on his game.Yeah..last year it was.
Flash
Yeah..last year it was. I think Thibodeau's system is really masking his lack of defensive skill. That system is by far the best in the NBA. Rose is still a pretty bad individual defender. Wade was blowing by him today.
Erick Blasco
As of mid-January, Rose had a top five PPP ratio according to Synergy Sports. There's a ton of video on Rose thanks to CoachNick for you to form your own conclusions. http://www.youtube.com/user/bballbreakdown#p/u Rose fights over screens well, he's decent on his help, he's very quick and long at staying in front of his man. He bites on pump fakes too much, and will yield the occasional blow by, but he's very solid, especially compared to other point guards. He takes fewer plays off than Rondo, guards fast players better than Williams, takes fewer stupid gambles than Paul, and unlike Russell Westbrook, he can actually keep players in front of him. Naming him as one of the worst defensive players in the game is silly.

Thibodeau's "system" isn't some amorphous entity, it's simply a "system" of playing proactive instead of reactive defense, with players asked to always be in position to help. Is Rose helped by bigs who know how to rotate? Sure. Just like those bigs are helped by Rose cutting off penetration, fighting over screens, rotating himself, etc.
Lemon
Brian Cook is much worse than anybody on this list. Nash understands team concepts well and Bargs is a respectable post defender. Overall I wouldn't call anybody on RD's list anything close to even average on defense, but they aren't the worst defenders in the league. Actually, before Cook got injured, he was doing okay defensively this season. He's known for taking key charges. He's no Nick Collison, but he doesn't belong to the same company as Calderon, David Lee etc. Also, on Rose's defense.http://www.otrbasketball.com/forums/topic/20685-derrick-roses-defensive-improvement/
