Carlos Arroyo to sign with Boston

He's not going to dominate, but I wonder if this one bites Miami in the ass sometime in the playoffs. Arroyo can hit open shots. He hasn't been a stellar three-point shooter, but last season with the Heat, he dropped a lot of shots into the hoop at an efficient rate.

Put Bibby on him, and I'm not so sure what happens. Maybe this is Arroyo giving Miami the middle finger.

Also, Arroyo could share secrets to the Celtics that they may not know about the Heat.

not sure why Boston made this signing. they already have Rondo, West, and Wafer. is Wafer going to be cut to make room for Arroyo?

West is too injury prone right now, and Wafer doesn't play PG. They need some immediate help at PG.

yeah, but I still don't see how Arroyo makes the cut. even if they send Chris Johnson and Avery Bradley back to the D-League, they still have a full 12 man squad even without Carlos.

Rondo

Allen

Pierce

Garnett

Shaq

Davis

Kristic

Green

Murphy

Pavlovic

Wafer

West

that's what makes me think Wafer has to bounce.

They don't have to cut anyone, they simply rejected offering Johnson another 10 day contract and picked up Arroyo.

so Wafer's gonna play in the D-League or what?

The reason they brought in Arroyo now is because Delonte is hurt again, and they need someone to fill in immediately. Avery has been terrible for them off the bench.

My guess is before the playoffs either Arroyo or Pavlovic gets cut.

just because Boston's the best defensive team in the league, doesn't mean every player on the roster has to be a great defender. Rondo's logging close to 40 mpg this year. with West and Wafer currently suffering injuries, the Celtics desperately needed a true pg who could give rest to Rondo as the C's head toward the playoffs. this has more to do with keeping Rondo healthy and rested than it does anything else.

Arroyo is pretty horrible, but he could be a solid role player for Boston. He played too many minutes in Miami. I think he played like 25? Did he start as well down there? He's really a pretty poor 3 pt shooter..his percentage was probably pretty good consider he was wide open in Miami.

he started the first part of the season, but Chalmers eventually took his spot.

Ugh, why is this scrub still in the NBA, let alone on the Boston Celtics.

they're just giving Rondo a breather. as soon as West gets back, Arroyo will fade into the background.

Serviceable, can hit the occasional open jumper, experience (can't teach that in the D-league). He's a marginal player at best but Boston doesn't have any better options right now.
