Newman
Big blow for the Grizzlies. His scoring ability will be sorely missed in the playoffs. Grizzlies small forward Rudy Gay will miss the rest of this season after a second opinion on his partially dislocated left shoulder determined that the injury requires surgery. Gay received the news after traveling to Birmingham, Ala., to visit renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews. “I’ve never really been hurt. I’ve never had anything shut me down,” Gay said. “There’s really no brace or anything I can wear to make it better. I have to have the surgery.” Link
ChosenOne
Damn the Grizzlies were looking forward to getting him back. This is a huge blow to the team though as they enter the the final stretch of the season. Good news for the Rockets though as they are trying to catch up to the Grizz. Dr. Feelgood
Tough loss for the Grizz. I was looking forward to seeing what they could do in the playoffs when they got him back. Damn...
La Bomba
[expletive]ing bullshit. I really think we're a playoff team that can give their first round matchup a run for their money if we have Rudy. I hope we stay in the playoff race, but I think we'll start to calm down as the season come to an end.
*Swish*
I would call this terrible news for the Grizzlies because they're in the 8th spot currently and the Rockets are 9th. As you all know, the playoffs are around the corner and EVERY TEAM is making a playoff push. A playoff push without their leader will be very tough for the Grizzlies as they might find themselves in 9th spot at the end of the season
Erick Blasco
You know...the Grizzlies have been playing just fine without him.
The Lone Granger
And just when the Grizzlies looked like a lock to make the postseason and maybe even have a chance to compete somewhat, they lose one of their best players for the season. Tough break for them, and this will definitely bring their hopes down. I know that they'll still make the Playoffs, but do you guys really think they'll have any chance to win against L.A. without Gay? Granted, last nights win over the C's was impressive though.
