JYD
Basically true. And rightfully so IMO. There's only, like, what? 12 games left? I mean, we should have a good idea by now...Not like it's January. Dwight could still win if they were to win like 9 out of their next 11 or something. Guest N/A
He speaks the truth, but he didn't need to go out and say this publicly. Yes he did. If he doesn't say it who will? [expletive] the Media. [expletive] Derrick Rose. Dwight Howard should be MVP. How can you average 24 ppg, 14 rpg, 2+ bpg, shoot 60% from the field, be surrounded by garbage (yet still lead your team to #4 seed), and not be MVP? Also, Dwight has a higher PER and many other advanced stats I covered in THIS thread. Dwight Howard > Derrick Rose
The Truth
lol wtf? I was just reading a few comments from the article and here's what someone posted: Generally to win MVP, you have to lift your team to one of the top 3 or 4 regular-season records in the league. Howard hasn't done that. His team is currently 8th. If the award were for "Most Outstanding Player", I would give it to Howard. For "most valuable", I would go with Kobe Bryant, Dirk Nowitzki, or Rose.reading these comments really just shows you the general ignorance of casual NBA fans. Yeah, the readers of ESPN are about as intelligent as the writers and broadcasters for ESPN...
Owner Real Deal Posted March 24, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted March 24, 2011 Howard's team does have the 8th best record in the NBA. I'm not sure what the problem is with that particular statement. Spurs, Lakers, Bulls, Mavs, Heat, Celtics and Thunder all have better records.

The Truth
y'all already know of my views on this year's MVP race. if it was up to me, it'd be like this: DwightLeBronRoseHe speaks the truth, but he didn't need to go out and say this publicly.what's wrong with sticking up for one of your players and trying to get him some recognition? Howard's team does have the 8th best record in the NBA. I'm not sure what the problem is with that particular statement. Spurs, Lakers, Bulls, Mavs, Heat, Celtics and Thunder all have better records.nvm, I assumed something else, as team record is usually discussed by conference. Guest N/A
you was sippin daiquiris in Rico while I was dodging bullets in this bias-fest of a topic. http://www.otrbasket...nk-rose-is-mvp/ LeBron leads Rose in every stat individually, but because he chose to play with the Heat he is hurt voting wise. I'm sure ESPN will make a late push with LeBron for MVP to make the voting close between Rose and LeBron, but Rose will win and Dirk and Howard will get screwed over. Dwight is just like Kobe was back when Kobe averaged 35 ppg and got robbed of MVP. Only because...Dwight's TEAM isn't good enough for him to win MOST VALUABLE PLAYER. NBA is full of flawed logic.

NBA is full of flawed logic.what part of, "mvp is not about having the best stats", dont you understand? Chicago was picked before the season started as a 4-6th seed team, possibly battling it out with the hawks and bucks. Chicago now sits at the number 1 spot. Rose does not have the number 1 stats, no, but he does have good stats and a huge improvement over last year. Dwights a great player, i just feel rose has done a better job with how the season has turned out. Rookie first year head coach, key players sitting out for long periods of time, while he remained healthy and started in all of his games. he improved greatly in some of the key areas of his game this season. Bulls are a legit contender this year, I dont think anyone has orlando in the finals. lebron james now has wade and bosh to get looks, and fell way short of the 72+ wins they guaranteed. I'd be shocked if lbj won mvp.
Buckets!
LBJ can't be the MVP. He's playing with a superstar! How valuable is he really is? Derrick Rose is the MVP! STOP HATING!
