Big Penny
Reports out of New Orleans suggesting that Hornets David West Out for Season with Torn ACL, 7.5M player option for 2012 #nba

Owner Real Deal Posted March 25, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted March 25, 2011 The Hornets aren't a lock to make the playoffs, either...so this is a big deal. More scoring from CP3, and someone else is going to have to step their game up (thinking of a certain player that should be playing better). YugoRocketsFan
hm. I have to say that it sucks for him but I will say wooo! for the Rockets.
*Swish*
Terrible news. It will be terrible for the Hornets to move past the first round without their second best player. Hopefully, Landry steps up
The Lone Granger
Wow what a horrible change of events for the Hornets. So they go from winning a huge game and their future looking good last night, to now losing one of their best players. Very huge turn of the tide for New Orleans. N.1.A.K.
Good thing West really doesn't depend on athleticism. I hope he comes back strong next year.
The Regime
Well good thing they traded for Carl Landry, he'll be productive for them just as he was for the Rockets when he started. Injury couldn't have come at a any worse time though. You guys are thinking short term (playoffs this season), but how is this going to affect his value in free agency? You guys are thinking short term (playoffs this season), but how is this going to affect his value in free agency? Everyone has been saying that the Hornets made a mistake by moving Thornton for Landry but now it's looking like it was a genius move. Obviously, they didn't have a West injury in mind when they made the move, but they knew that they needed more depth there. Very underrated move looking back at the deadline, especially now after this news.
Newman
They sure are glad to have picked up Landry, he can put up West's numbers given the touches and minutes. I think the Hornets might still be able to snatch one of the last two playoff spots, but only if their defense hold up.
Dr. Feelgood
Tough break for yet another team fighting for their playoff chances down the stretch of these last few weeks of the season.
Owner Real Deal Posted March 26, 2011 Owner Report Share Posted March 26, 2011 May not be a big deal after all. I completely forgot that Carl Landry is his backup. I was expecting someone much, much worse.
