The Lone Granger
New Jersey Nets point guard Sundiata Gaines will be out of action for several weeks after fracturing his right hip. Nets general manager Billy King said Thursday that Gaines was injured in the first quarter of Wednesday’s game at Cleveland. He said Gaines will be on crutches for six to eight weeks and will then start a rehab program. The 24-year-old out the University of Georgia has appeared in 10 games with the Nets this season, averaging 5.5 points and 2.5 assists in 14.6 minutes. He had just signed a multiyear contract with the team last weekend after playing for them on two 10-day contracts. http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/212543/Sundiata_Gaines_Out_For_Season_With_Fractured_Hip That's a tough break for Gaines. He was finally being asked to play his game and score the ball off the bench and then this happens. Hopefully for him he showed enough that the Nets want to bring him back next year. Thoughts? NomarFachix
Heard they really wanted to put him in the starting alongside Farmar but that left them with no backup point, they really liked his game. Tough break, pun intended.
*Swish*
He was playing well with the Nets. tough break for him but on the other hand, Nets wouldn't make the playoffs this year so it's extra rest for him
