I'm going to be completely honest here...

Lil Wayne is not even as bad as everyone makes him out to be. He's actually a pretty good rapper. Much better than the Soulja Boy's and Gucci's. imo, he's one of the best mainstream rappers there is.

Well, yeah, it depends who you compare him too of course. If you compare him to the wackest rappers in the game, then yeah, he's pretty [expletive]ing good. But when you compare him to the legends like Big, Pac, Jay and Nas, he's not in that category. He's put out too much wackness.

Yeah, there's no way people should compare Wayne to Pac, Nas, Eminem, and other all time legends.

Wayne is just so damn bad now. Maybe saying Lil B is better is an overstatement, but he has fallen off so strongly. In his early career, listeners could at least recognize his talent, but with songs like 6'7 or Fire Flame, I find myself having to turn the song off.

I don't find 6'7" all that bad. I thought the beat was pretty cool, and some decent verses. I dunno. Didn't seem as bad as some of his auto tune wackness and stuff like that.

6'7 and A Milli are two of the most annoying beats ever IMO. They were done by the same producers but the name slips my mind

^Bangladesh?

I think. I liked both of those beats. Decent amount of creativity. As oppose to a Lex Luger beat (every single one sounds the same! Plus dat [expletive]a is dumb as hell!!)

Whether people like him or not, at the end of the day Wayne is going to be remembered as one of the best ever because no one will ever have his longevity. Dude has been dropping real albums since he was like 16 with Cash Money. He's only in his mid 20's so he's going to be around for a very, very long time. All 3 Carter's have been great and he's got some classic mixtapes. People just choose to hate on him because its the cool thing to do on the internet.

Lex Luger beats only work for Rick Ross, and no one else.

Not rly, I have always disliked him, he has a couple of good songs but he is annoying to listen to, and is overrated.

The people "hate because it's cool" is also the most overused excuse on the Internet. It has nothing to do with me disliking the guy. Dedication 1 and 2 and The Carter 2 are in constant rotation in my iPod. He just hasn't made good music since, and the music he has made is pittful.

I can listen to any Carter all day to be honest. No Ceilings was 50/50 for me because it had some great songs and some average ones.

The Drought mixtapes are my favorites though.

I'm not going to get into an argument about musical preference here because I think that is the stupidest thing to argue about. But I still do stand by Flash's point that a lot of people hate on Wayne because it is the cool thing to do on the internet. I can understand people hating his whole gay rock phrase but overall he is not a horrible rapper. You go back to 2007-2008ish and I bet you this topic would have went differently. People were all over his dick when The Carter 3 came out. It also probably has to do with this new movement in recent years on the internet in which "all mainstream stuff is garbage".

Real talk right there. Definitely agree with everything you said. Carter 3 had to be the most hyped up album I ever seen. People were on edge waiting for that shit and I don't remember too many people being disappointed.

Mother[expletive]ing this.

Early Wayne was [expletive]ing FILTHY. Knowing I love his early music, why would I suddenly decide to hate on dude if his music hadn't deteriorated drastically?

The recent criticism is fair, since Rebirth was horrid and he's been either hit or miss with his new stuff.

Compared to the best rappers alive, Lil Wayne is just about average, so saying he's the best rapper alive (lol) is obviously going a too far imo. But compared to other mainstream rappers, who also get tons of radio play, Lil Wayne is at the top of the bunch. I personally don't like Wayne's style, delivery and often i'm not a fond to the beats he uses, but some of the stuff he released about 5 years ago or so is listenable.

Basically sums it up in general. Not saying Sublime is a typical internet hater, because he raises some good points about Wayne, but this sums it up in general when it comes to the topic of Lil Wayne.

I am not a human being was a good album. Not his best but it has like 5 songs on there which are really good.

This song go hard. :glasses:

It's alright. I didn't listen to INAHB too much because it just wasn't a very good project as a whole.

I'm Not a Human Being was just a bunch of songs that weren't good enough to make Carter 3, the Young Money CD or No Ceilings from what I understand.

Yeah I've heard that too. Still doesn't diminish the fact that it was pretty bad overall lol.
