Guest N/A
Baseball is almost here and it's also prediction time! Also, I will give a brief explanation as to why a team will win the Pennant, World Series, and any major award. If you have any disagreement, question, or outrage leave a comment in a well thought out and appropriate manner then I will directly address it. Without further ado... AL EAST 1.Boston Red Sox 95-67 2.New York Yankees 90-72* 3.Tampa Bay Rays 84-78 4.Baltimore Orioles 82-80 5.Toronto Blue Jays 81-81 AL CENTRAL 1.Chicago White Sox 91-71 2.Minnesota Twins 86-76 3.Detroit Tigers 82-80 4.Cleveland Indians 67-95 5.Kansas City Royals 60-102 AL WEST 1.Texas Rangers 86-76 2.Anahiem Angles 81-81 3.Oakland Athletics 78-84 4.Seattle Mariners 65-97 * denotes Wild Card Champion NL EAST 1.Atlanta Braves 95-67 2.Philadelphia Phillies 88-74* 3.Florida Marlins 82-80 4.Washington Nationals 71-91 5.New York Mets 67-95 NL CENTRAL 1.St.Louis Cardinals 91-71 2.Cincinnati Reds 86-76 3.Milwaukee Brewers 83-79 4.Chicago Cubs 76-86 5.Pittsburgh Pirates 69-93 6.Houston Astros 66-96 NL West 1.San Francisco Giants 93-69 2.Colorado Rockies 86-76 3.Los Angeles Dodgers 82-80 4.San Diego Padres 73-89 5.Arizona Diamondbacks 70-92 AL PLAYOFFS ALDS:Red Sox defeat Rangers 3 games to 2 Yankees defeat White Sox 3 games to 0 ALCS:Red Sox defeat Yankees 4 games to 3 Reason: Red Sox superior lineup and slightly better pitching will give them the edge in this classic series. Look for Alex Rodriguez to have a big series, but for the Red Sox hitters overall to have a bigger impact in why the Red Sox won this series. NL Playoffs NLDS: Braves defeat Giants 3 games to 2 Phillies defeat Cardinals 3 games to 1 NLCS: Braves defeat Phillies 4 games to 3 Reason:The Braves clutch hitting and surprising pitching will help them edge the Phillies in a series that could only rival the 2011 ALCS in terms of greatness. Look for Jason Heyward to have a huge impact on the Braves winning this series, and for the Phillies bats to fall silent while the Phantastic Phour Phillies pitchers pitch their best to win the series. WORLD SERIES Red Sox defeat Braves 4 games to 2 Reason:Once again the Red Sox superior hitting and not surprisingly superior pitching allow them to win this series. Look for Adrian Gonzalez to have a fantastic series, and for Jacoby Ellsbury and Carl Crawford to wreak havoc on the base paths for the Red Sox as they show why Brian McCann is known for his offense. Awards AL MVP:Alex Rodriguez Reason: A healthier, leaner, and hungrier Alex Rodriguez will show why he is still one of the most feared players in baseball as he hits .300 with 40+ home runs and 100+ RBI's. He will also carry the Yankees in the 2nd half of the season as they win the Wild Card. NL MVP:Albert Pujols Reason: In a contract year, Albert shows why he is worth all of the money that he desires. Watch as El Hombre sets career highs with 50+ Home Runs, 120+ RBI's, and 110+ runs while hitting a cool .330 in the process. Also, for a prediction after 2011, watch him sign with the New York Yankees for a record 35+ million a year thanks to the Yankees desire for a title and the bitter taste left by the Red Sox after beating them in the ALCS which enabled them to win another World Series. World Series MVP: Adrian Gonzalez Reason:Adrian Gonzalez has always been great at hitting right-handed pitching, and you will see the same result as he touches up aces Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum in route to hitting .400 in the World Series. AL Cy Young: CC Sabathia Reason: Sabathia carries the Yankees rotation to a Wild Card berth as he makes fans question why they ever wanted Cliff Lee in New York. Sabathia wins 20+ games with a sub 3.15 ERA as he shows why he is still the best pitcher in the AL. NL Cy Young: Clayton Kershaw Reason:Kershaw continues his development as a pro with a Cy Young thanks to a 15+ win season with a sub 2.50 ERA and a league leading 230+ strikeouts. The kid from Dallas shows why Dodgers scouts called him the best pitcher they've had since Sandy Koufax. AL Manager of the Year: Buck Showalter Reason:Buck leads the Orioles to a .500+ finish as they surprise everyone except themselves with a winning record for the first time since Cal Ripken was suiting up for them. Also, it is even more shocking they achieve this in the toughest division in baseball. In addition, the AL East this year will be the first division since the 2005 NL East to have all 5 teams who are .500+ NL Manager of the Year: Fredi Gonzalez Reason: Fredi shows the Braves that they can move on without Bobby Cox as they win the NL East. They shock the baseball world as they win the NL East even though the Phillies have the Phab Phour. AL Rookie of the Year: Jeremy Hellickson Reason:Jeremy shows why he is the Rays top prospect and shows why they traded Matt Garza just so they could insert this young stud into the rotation. He performs well with a sub 4 ERA and wins 10+ games in the process all while impressing along the way. NL Rookie of the Year: Brandon Belt Reason:Just 22 years old, Belt projects as a guy who will start the season with AAA Fresno(Giants). He may be coming to a Major League ballpark near you soon though. After all, the 6-foot-5 lefty hitter had 43 doubles, 10 triples and 23 homers during his first season in the pro game. He also had 112 RBIs, 22 stolen bases and a .352 batting average. He could be the type of player that propels the Giants to a division title much like 2010 Rookie of the Year Buster Posey did last year. http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/198154_1886552573066_1518960269_2048068_7036156_n.jpg
Cobb
Redsox superior hitting? Braves probably have the deepest lineup in the league with the addition of Uggla.

Cobb
Have you seen their lineup? Only holes are SS and C...I've seen both. I think it would be a great match-up, but I just don't see how their lineup is so "superior" to ours batting wise. If they were to win, it would clearly be because of their pitching.
