I'm posting this cause I heard the plans for the next presidential election on the republican side would like to get rid of the fda. Whats your thoughts? The whole big government is bad has its basis, but when you are getting rid of institutions that are fundamentally there to help improve the life of the citizens, you lose me. What do you have against the FDA? They make food meet a certain safety requirement, to help reduce your own likeliness of getting a really bad disease? You hate the fact that they have tried to kill cigarette use in order to save many lives? And don't say that it should be a person's right to smoke, they can still smoke. But they should be discouraged with all of the facts out there, and children shouldn't see the advertising. You do know the FDA doesn't just try and not ensure the safety of food, right? I'm not saying I support the FDA, but if people would become more knowledgeable on subjects, it would be good.
