JYD
Dwight Howard. One of the all-time great defensive Centers, he's easily the most dominating force inside in the NBA. He's definitely the DPOY!
Flash
Dwight Howard, IMO has a chance to go down as the best defensive center ever next to Bill Russell, if he isn't there already. Just an absolute game changer with his presence alone. Easy choice.

He isn't even the best defensive player of his generation yet,
Warren2ThaG
DWIGHT, then Oden by default.

*Swish*
Dwight Howard definitely. Even when he doesn't get blocks, his presence in the paint is important Edited April 6, 2011 by *Swish*
Dash
Dwight Howard but Chris Paul and Chandler have been great too.
AboveLegit
Dwight Howard easily. Everyone in that starting lineup are complete scrubs on defense without him, the impact he has made on that team is something I have seen in a handful of players. The Regime
Andre Iguodala should be one of the poll options, either replacing Josh Smith or Tim Duncan. Just saying.
JYD
http://www.best-basketball-tips.com/images/shane-battier.jpgHahaha. Funny. Garnett was a great defensive player but not as good as Howard. And Iggy just got torched by Melo, no way is he a candidate for DPOY. He's a very good defensive player but he's not even close to being the best. Edited April 7, 2011 by JYD
ChosenOne
Another obvious call. Dwight Howard. There is no one player that means more on defense than he does for the Magic.
Owner Real Deal Posted April 7, 2011 Author Owner Report Share Posted April 7, 2011 And Iggy just got torched by Melo, no way is he a candidate for DPOY.Dwight Howard was manhandled by Drew earlier in the season (one of the games we played Orlando). Drew was getting everything he wanted, and could've dropped 30 if he was a primary option. It really doesn't mean much. When a player catches fire, and he's also an offensive juggernaut, there isn't much you can do about it, no matter who you are.

But I would definitely say overall Howard is a better defensive player than Igodoula, Battier, and Garnett in his prime.
Erick Blasco
Prime KG deserves more credit than what he's doing, and I'm extremely satisfied to see Luol Deng get recognition for the DPOY award, but this is Dwight's to lose.
Sun Tzu
I'll go with Dwight Howard. I just don't see anyone else playing defense like he has.
Buckets!
Iggy should be on the list. I guess Dwight Howard wins again.
Make It Naaaashty
I personally think Luol Deng should win it but Howard obviously will. Howards impact defensively in the paint is special, even though he shouldn't win it I'll take him.
Mentch
If it wasn't for Derrick Rose, then Dwight Howard would probably have a good case for MVP this year, let alone Defensive Player of the Year. I'm going with him
Lkr
Dwight Howard, there is no competition for it really
