The Regime
Lakers coach Phil Jackson had harsh words for his team following their losing effort in Portland Friday night, their fourth loss in a row. "We were lazy and inefficient in the first half," Jackson said. "In the second half, we just didn't buckle down and do the right thing offensively. These guys just don't want to play hard right now." The losses to the Trail Blazers, Golden State, Utah and Denver had a common thread. The Lakers didn't take the games as seriously as their opponents did, and they lost to teams below them in the standings. "It's a product of not paying attention, not being focused, not playing the game with the right attitude," Jackson added. http://www.dailynews.com/lakers/ci_17807632

*Swish*
I really like Phil Jackson when he talks bad about his Lakers. He knows exactly what he's doing. When he criticizes his own team, you know the Lakers will win their next game in a blow out behind Kobe's huge night

?QuestionMark?
It's not that they're lazy as much as it is that they're probably tired. Three straight Final runs, thats over 300 games (not including pre-season and international games) that the core of this team has grinded through. Lakers are playing for June right now, not April. They'll flip the switch when it matters, but right now they're just going through the motions. It'll be interesting to see what they do in the off-season. They need new life to this team. Young legs. There's a reason no team has done 4 in a row since Boston. The schedule wears teams out.
