JYD
OMG IM SO OFFENDED .Are you gay? I'm just wondering because it seems that you didn't take it personally? It would only apply to you if you were so... I'm sure most would've felt differently if it were LeBron, but not point to dive into that at this point. I really don't see this as a big deal; I'm sure guys say shit like this all the time on the court in the NBA.
AboveLegit
Bryant spoke with Human Rights Campaign honcho Joe Solmonese -- who tells TMZ, "I applaud Kobe Bryant for his swift apology. We had a very sincere conversation in which he expressed his heartfelt regret for the hurt that his words caused." Solmonese adds, "He told me that it’s never OK to degrade or tease, and that he understands how his words could unfortunately give the wrong impression that this is appropriate conduct." "At the end of a difficult day, I applaud Kobe for coming forward and taking responsibility for his actions."http://www.tmz.com/2011/04/13/kobe-bryant-hrc-human-rights-campaign-gay-slur-apology-gay-rights-group-los-angeles-lakers/

htown11
Why even bring up LeBron in this discussion? This forum is pro Lakers big time so why is everyone surprised when people give LeBron a tough time on here lol it's like beating a dead horse or at least that's what it seems like during some of the Heat games on here. What he said is not right, and he got caught saying it. This isn't just some random player it's Kobe Bryant it has a larger impact than pretty much anyone else in the league. He paid his fine he even apologized and acknowledged he made a mistake out of frustration the NBA took care of business and so did Kobe who handled it with respect.

It's more anti-LeBron than it is pro-Lakers. The whole thing comes down to the league making an example out of Kobe for this. Kobe apologized, and everyone is moving forward now. At least they should be.
Art
David Sterns reaction urked me the most; so holier than thou. I think its ridiculous how they hyped this story up. I could be more offended by what other superstars have said on live tv. Just stupid P.R.

I just think this is blown out of proportion, honestly. I know it was said out of anger, how many of us had said it. Kenyon Martin he deserved to be fined for antics If the ref WAS gay then yes it would be an issue, is he who knows? Should he have been fine for verbally abusing the ref yes, should it be 100k, No. Edited April 14, 2011 by deestillballin
The Regime
He deserves a fine, I'm not going to argue that. But $100,000, really?
