Teletopez
Dear Nets fans, As the season draws to a close, I wanted to express my gratitude for your ongoing support and passion for our team. It's been a year of considerable excitement. Some close games, some unfortunate injuries, some dramatic victories (Remember the triple overtime win against Toronto?). There's been lots of attention, good and bad, from the press. And we've sparked a hot rivalry with that team across the river, which will be great for the fans of both clubs. On a personal note, I am grateful for the many kind words and warm wishes from the fans I've seen at games or met in different places. Everyone I have had the pleasure of speaking with has been exceptionally enthusiastic and patient. Much has been done over the past season. We have a new home, new coach, and new players, including arguably the best point guard in the NBA, Deron Williams. The front office has been revamped and bolstered. These are the building blocks for a winning franchise. Now we need to take it to the next step, pulling all of the elements together so that we see the results on the scoreboard. The 2011-2012 season will be about adding to our roster, and getting a top-flight team ready for the move to the Barclays Center. Significant progress has been made on our new home in Brooklyn and the highly anticipated opening in September 2012 will make a tremendous impression on the global sports and entertainment landscape. I want you to know we are all committed to realizing our potential, and to winning. And you, the NETS fans, are a huge part of the plan. Many thanks for your dedication! http://media1.mm.ticketmaster.com/new%20jersey%20nets/email/PROKY_SIG.JPGMikhail Prokhorov
Erick Blasco
I will say this. While Prokhorov wasn't able to capitalize on most of his immediate goals, and the Nets weren't very good, he's ran the organization the right way. The team still needs to make strides, but they aren't a laughingstock and have a reason for an exciting future. Nets fans should be cautiously optimistic.

There were several periods during the season in which the situation was a huge letdown for fans, particularly the continuous struggles to get a superstar.. I remember reading an article from Woj a couple days before January 21, saying that Prokhorov would be considered a joke if he didn't come out of a meeting with Anthony with an extension agreement (the article was peculiar, not Woj's typical writing style). Prokhorov took a different route on January 21, though, one that made him look like anything but a joke. The Nets eventually dove back into the Melo talks, and even though they lost the battle to get him, they forced a high cost for the Knicks. Two days after Melo was dealt to New York, Jersey traded for a more valuable player at a cheaper price.
