NYK 2011 Offseason

Watching a few work outs of the guys I want the Knicks to get, forgot to mention motiejunas who is a perfect D'antoni guy if we are committed to d'antoni, 7 footer who can hit jumpshots, has a post game and can grab boards. Thought I'd post the workouts with my thoughts

Supposedly he had just lifted before the workout but this is just as ugly as the Biyombo workout to me man, brick after brick, and then the atrocious airball at 3:49 like, you are being drafted as a shooter and you come out and do this, very unimpressive

Much more impressed here, especially because I thought he was going to have no post game going in, but I can def see the Pau Gasol comparisons after this, don't get me wrong I know he's not going up against a real defender because you can tell he has some skills in the post, loved the quickness of the drop step at 4:15

The infamous Biyombo workout sadly the offense he displays is in this is truly pathetic, no low post skills, no moves, not touch, the only thing that he could do is dunk and he even messed up one of those, I'm willing to overlook it, but it is a big deal that the guy has a work out and looks 10 times worse than Kwame Brown.

Short workout of just Klay hitting mid range shots, notice that his shots just aren't going in, they usually find the center of the rim every time, which is beautiful, great touch, and I love his effortless short release, I just love this workout tbh, really made me like him

This workout was also impressive to me what struck me the most was he got to see his 6-7 frame and what it looks like vs other SG's and it looks great, his release is going to be tough for them to defend and he has some moves down low and near the rim to take full advantage of his size, I saw a lot of things I like from Klay, still I don't know about his range, athlethism, defense or ability to finish in traffic, all that said, he is my #1 target for us

 his humbleness and demeanor in his interviews is awesome too, love this kid, perfect 2 guard for us, Landry can be the bench 2-3

Biyombo definitely has 0 offensive skills right now.. he has to be one of the rawest big men coming out. His defense and athleticism, and that enormous wingspan though are what's going to enamor him to ballclubs. I've seen Ben Wallace comparisons thrown around, only reason the Knicks draft him is because they need a starting 5 who will play D and rebound.

Motie is great, but again fits that mold of all offense, no defense.. same with Jimmer. Maybe Klay really is their best option, I've heard a lot of reports that the Knicks would move up for him.

Jimmer, I wouldn't mind, his stock has sky rocketed so much and he has 'verbal commitments' from teams, I just don't see us getting him. I am very flattered that he is a Knicks fan and would to play for us though. Anyways, 1 day till draft, Rotoworld and DraftExpress have us taking Markieff Morris, I just don't see it. Watching his workout the first thing that strikes me is the guy is a very small 4, and probably more of a tall slow 3. Really strikes me as a Shawne Williams clone, a forward with no true position but has a lot of skills. I like him, but we don't need another Shawne Williams, I'd much rather 7 foot Motie over him..

DE has him as best case: Sheed Wallace, worst case, as a strong Ersan Ilyasova.

AlexKennedyNBA Alex Kennedy

The New York Knicks are shopping Toney Douglas, sources confirm. They may package him with #17 to move up or move him for another player.

^^ Sweet.

He's a good player, don't get me wrong. But he's an undersized 2 and has very little point guard skills. If we can move him for a backup point (Flynn?) I'd do it in a heartbeat. If it takes Douglas and 17 to move up for a guy we really want in the 1st, do it.

Nice, Harrellson seems like a nice pick, loved the comments he already made about him knowing his role and just being an enforcer/garbage big. Who knows maybe he can develop, I feel he will be a fan favorite. Shumpert, still has to prove himself to me, seems like a clever kid though. Both should have a good time going through the rookie hazing with eachother.
