All though we felt his absence, I think it gave Coke a bigger role and he improved significantly. Now we'll have two left specialists available.

I highly doubt that they give that much up for Roy Halladay, unless the New York Yankees offer him a huge contract.

I meant that that's how much the Jays would want if they were to trade within the division according to rumors. I don't see any reason for Cashman to go with that, though.

Wang awaiting second opinion

Chien-Ming Wang is awaiting a second opinion on his injured right throwing shoulder, and manager Joe Girardi didn't sound optimistic about getting the sinkerballer back this season.

Wang went on the 15-day disabled list July 5 with a strained right shoulder. After two weeks of rest, he played catch Monday and experienced more discomfort.

No hit against Gio Gonzalez so far, what a joke

Lol, there's a reason Gio has been regarded as one of the better pitching prospects in the country over the past couple years. The kid can pitch, despite how much he has struggled this year.

1 hit through 5.2 innings, pathetic.

I can think of 27 or 28 teams out there who would die for this "pathetic" offense. Days like this happen, baseball is a funny game. And despite how "pathetic" they have been, the game is still tied.

Wow....cannot believe I just stood up for the Yankees. Apocalypse must be coming.

-- Damaso Marte is scheduled to throw two innings tonight for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He might need two days off after that and then the Yankees will think about a possible promotion.

-- Alfredo Aceves and Dave Robertson are not going to pitch tonight. The Yankees are going to stay away from those guys and that's why a move still has not been made to call up a position player. It sounds more and more likely that Ramiro Pena will be the guy who gets the call.
:)

-- Joe Girardi did not sound optimistic that a trade would be made before July 31. It seems like the Yankees are confident there will be moves to be made in August and the team is playing well right now, so there's no urgency to upset the apple cart, so to speak.

Chien-Ming Wang will have arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder capsule on Wednesday under the care of Dr. James Andrews and will miss the remainder of the 2009 season.

The Yankees hurler had an MRI on Monday in Birmingham, Ala., and met with Andrews on Tuesday. Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that the team has no timeframe on how long Wang will need to recover.

"We'll probably know more after the surgery," Girardi said.
