Al-Qaida vows revenge for Osama bin Laden's death

Recommended Posts

I'm obviously being extreme when I say we should obliterate the Middle East, but the reality is, this isn't the 1600's anymore. Countries have high powered weapons, chemical weapons, and nukes. Terrorists have access to many deadly weapons today, and I think there is a right to be very concerned about what it happening.

All it takes is one attack, and the world could change to a place that very few could imagine. I know people are "aware" that there is a threat, but I think that threat is a lot more serious than people want to think.

But, I mean, if we were to drop a huge bomb on the Middle East to 'eliminate' these terrorists, wouldn't we be doing the exact same thing? Killing thousands of innocent people?

Lol, how can anyone "understand" why they hate Western culture so much? Anyone playing the America is to blame card should have their citizenship revoked ASAP. GTFOH with the whole America is to blame shit. There's no reason to hijack [expletive]ing planes and fly them into a national landmark like that.

I never said the 9/11 attacks were justified. As a matter of fact, I specifically went out of my way to say that they were not and it was no excuse to kill thousands of Innocent people - no matter how much they hate our culture or way of life.

Not sure if that comment was directed at me; if it wasn't, not sure who it was even directed at? Who here justified them hijacking planes and flying them into the twin towers? Pretty much no one has said that here.

That's why I said I was exaggerating, and it's hard to say what should be done in the event there is another attack on U.S. soil.

People still act like all the terrorists are going to do is crash planes into buildings and derail trains. The threat is much larger, especially with nuclear weapons being available to terrorists.

I don't have an answer, but what would you do if 50,000 Americans were killed by a terrorist attack on U.S. soil? There is no basis for the 50,000 people, but I'm just throwing a rather large number out there. Do we sit back and take it up the ass like many people seem to want us to do, or do we attack?

I never said it was acceptable, you're the ignorant one putting words in my mouth. The US and Soviet Union caused plenty of problems in the 80s, and that was bin Laden's main reason to attack the US. We pretty much [expletive]ed up Afghanistan. Sorry that the US can do no wrong. Hell, here you go:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_war_in_Afghanistan

read all about it. Here is more:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afghan_Civil_War_(1978-present)

BTW, the "they hate western culture" shit is the funniest excuse ever. bin Laden himself said it best:

"Let him tell us why we did not strike Sweden"

I'm not going to write the rest of the quote, because it includes some bullshit praise for al qaida members.

"While I was looking at these destroyed towers in Lebanon, it sparked in my mind that the tyrant should be punished with the same and that we should destroy towers in America, so that it tastes what we taste and would be deterred from killing our children and women."

I don't agree with his reasoning, but you have to understand where he comes from.

Show me where I mentioned "western culture" once in this thread. Please, I'd love for you to show me, or you can stop putting words in my mouth.

Secondly, is that really the quote you are going to use to support your feelings? The U.S. is a superpower, and Sweden is not, so to make it sound like the U.S. are trouble makers, is just absurd. They attacked the U.S. because they are jealous and psychotic. There's no other way around it. I know what you are saying, but I do not agree with you on a lot of it.

Also, you can "understand" where the terrorists are coming from all you want, and I can understand some frustration, but there is no way anyone can "understand" why the [expletive] our country was attacked in such a manner. There is no "understanding" that because there is no rational thought to support a case for an attack of that magnitude.
